@glerma1 the springs have a locating pin for the axle, as far as stretching there are some thing to consider?? keeping the bed on the truck or tubing it out? You need to move front axle forward or tires will rub on on back of front fenders. What is the overall WB you are after?? Keeping leaf springs or going coil over?? You can stretch both ends to make a long story short.
great vid! How do u locate the axle on the springs is there a pin or something or just locate center of spring? And if the wheel base was shorter for say a reg cab toy how would u suggest lengthening the wb, front, rear, both? Ive got a 95 and wanna fit 37s and stretch it a lil any help would be appreciated thx
just asking hah. not because of your welding! just cause i thought mig welding wouldnt be strong enough for a suspention system. i wanna do one fopr myself and hearing that you used mig and it holds up makes me stoked! are you a professional welder? or what kind of experience do you have? and do you think i could use a hack saw or grinder with a cutoff wheel to cut off the ifs?
Great video. I would love to get this done to my '98 ext cab TRD Taco. I wish I had a friend with the knowledge and the tools to make it happen. As it is now, I just need to save the money to pay to have it done. Much less cool than doing it yourself though.
what offset was your shackle tube on the rear on the outside? The instructions call for 1/4" sticking out from the frame. I usually see people with more than that on the offset.
What front springs did you use? 4 inch lift springs? Do you have to use the shock hoops, or can you use the factory shock mounts? I'm considering this on my 94 Pickup.
@FunkyFreshMP Not yet, we moved and are in the process of getting shop up and running, got dual transfer cases and brand new motor!!! It is all coming soon!!!! Thanks for watching
+kieran streifling I just had not gotten the springs for the back at that time so the truck was not sitting level. Sorry that was not clear. Thanks for Watching
hey just my 2cents move the front shackle hanger toward the front more so the angle is right it should be 90 degrees vertical so the leaf spring works the way it should say you get airborn
I did not have to buy one but I did. This is a kit from AllPro. 5 inch lift. It worked out great and not much thinking on my part, everything is figured out for you!! Thanks for watching!!
Goto All Pro Off Road and they have everything you need. Great web site and great customer service. All the credit goes to them!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Jessi looney lots of options for doing an s.a.s on a hardbody main thing is choose an axle that works for track width and has the differential on the correct side. I went with a ford dana 44 in the front and a ford 9 in the rear just so the gears would match up.
@go4broke92 No sir, I got what parts I bought from ALL PRO. FYI they are great and will help you anyway they can if you call!! Great company and customer service!!
It's defenitely some rookie mistakes made but keep up the efforts and do what you like to do trial and error will give you a better eye for future builds the wheel base is I got off I'm not going off the fender visual but it's just plain to see through the video front axle needs to be moved back plate better tabs and weld that front cross member all the way don't cut corners I like the brackets but it's not solid when your bumping the weight on big rocks I don't know if you bobbed that back end at all but that truck don't need all that off the back if it's going to be expected to get itself up or down the places that you put your time into building it to do the places you want it be able to go check out some of them guys trucks that do it all the time take your mental notes for future wheeling mods buddy you got the right idea tho just a couple it's cool for an extra cab
nice...i like the (all-pro flip-kit ) better than trail-gears. Back a few years it was Marlin CR, before the internet... Then All-Pro Copyed him, Then all hell broke loose. (lol) NICE to have a SHOP to do that in... I did mine with Just a Borrow-ed Welder an Palm-Grinder !!!
@RaefordRedneck Go to Allpro.com and they will help you with anything you need, they helped me and when I called they were very helpful and can answer your questions!!! Great guys!!!

Cool vid! Whats did you use for a donar vehicle?
89 Toyota SR5 extra cab w/22RE. going to be a great rig!!

Did you use s15 springs
Que presupuesto nesecita para ese trabajo
where did you get all the parts and brackets you needed to do the sas? Thanks.
@ltbaldwin What website did you order your parts from? Mainly just the crossmember and hangers
was that a kit? or did you build the front crossmember and shackle tubes?
Nice clean up on the frame
cant wait to get started on my 93
What steering box are u using
@ltbaldwin I'll bet! Hey did that really take all of 2 days? That's amazing. The few price quotes I've seen came it at near $5k.
Thanks for ur time and sorry for all the questions
What size lift springs did you use for the front?
did you mean to set front axle so far forward .
what form of welding did you use for all of this?
Wheres the wheelin video of this beast?
Do you think it's necessary to have the engine out? I seen you strapped the frame...
I'm looking to do my 95 burban
No, the engine was out to be rebuilt i do not think it is necessary. Good luck and would love to see it here on TH-cam!!! Thanks for watching!!!!
and it is still all togeather?
Where did you end up finding you axle
I found it on Craigslist
I found it on Craigslist
@Carfreak50025 I am not sure? Not familiar with the mazdas
Also do u have any ideas on a shorter spring so I don't need to lift the rear?
What is the smallest kit you can get?
Great shop! Very jealous.
I put dual transfer cases in, but you will just have to have a driveline built, same transfer case!!
And would u have to pull the engine out to do this swap?
Why is the rear end different? You didn't fishing the sentence and now I'm curious
+kieran streifling I just had not gotten the springs for the back at that time so the truck was not sitting level. Sorry that was not clear. Thanks for Watching
do you have to pull the engine
@YZrmk250yamaha
5.5 springs from allpro
Yes, to get more clearance for the tires
hey just my 2cents move the front shackle hanger toward the front more so the angle is right it should be 90 degrees vertical so the leaf spring works the way it should say you get airborn
Nice truck by the way
I installed a high steer kit, look up on the internet and you will see how it works!! kinda expensive but the way to go IMHO!!
Where's part 3
im getting ready to do one should I make a full series of it?
Nick Kinnaman yes
How did this turn out?
As I haven't got time or a welder it makes it difficult do do this
Did you have to buy a swap kit???or is it homemade
I did not have to buy one but I did. This is a kit from AllPro. 5 inch lift. It worked out great and not much thinking on my part, everything is figured out for you!! Thanks for watching!!
So you don't really need one
@Carfreak50025 yes they can if you need or want help i would happy to give you advice or any tips i can
What would you change to do this to my 1995 Toyota sr5?
Goto All Pro Off Road and they have everything you need. Great web site and great customer service. All the credit goes to them!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Trail Gear, All Pro offroad.
what front diff could i use for a nissan hardbody
Im sorry, this is the only one we have done so I am not familiar with anything else?
Jessi looney lots of options for doing an s.a.s on a hardbody main thing is choose an axle that works for track width and has the differential on the correct side. I went with a ford dana 44 in the front and a ford 9 in the rear just so the gears would match up.
+Chris Campbell ok cool i was thinking a dana 35 but it doesnt have lock out hubs i guess i could keep looking and thanks for your comment
@@jessilooney2444 no worries and dana 44 is about as small as i would personally go.
good work man
@04yz125Man 1981 and yes it is trussed
What kind of car is the front axle? Sorry for my english, because i am from russia
What vehicle are you trying to do this to
Toyota Hilux
@go4broke92 No sir, I got what parts I bought from ALL PRO. FYI they are great and will help you anyway they can if you call!! Great company and customer service!!
that one reason people put Toyota rear leafs in the front..... to push the front end forward
How come yall just don`t buy a 84 or 85 yota, wouldn`t that be a lot easier?
@FunkyFreshMP Yes the truck is for him, but he is doing most of the work!!!!
did you push the front axle forward to inches? And if so did you have to move the gearbox
could of made it but I did not, I got the parts from All-Pro. They have everything you will need.
Up up we go
@ByteMeDammit Great bonding time for me and my son!!!
if your a pro welder you would know that mig is just as strong! If you know what you are doing the weld will be stronger then the metal!
Thank you so much for the insight and I will definitely take your advice!!! Thanks for watching too!!!
