- Hey! Today I wanted to go back to an OG video of mine, a clean with me! Also I thought it would be a great time to give you a kitchen update 1 year after our budget kitchen makeover. I'll show you a close up of how the paint has lasted, and talk you through how everything has lasted and what I'd do differently if I were to do it all again.

Of all the rooms you guys have transformed in the house the Kitchen was my favourite. Before it looked old fashioned, dark and dreary, but now it's so bright chic and modern. I just love it😁💕.

Even with small changes, your kitchen is so light and breezy. We have builder grade cabinets in that ho-hmm fake oak color. I had the top cabinets painted white and the lowers and island done in a bit darker sage/gray paint. Our countertops are black granite.

A good tip for getting smear marks off stainless steel, clean as normal then kitchen towel with a spray of wd40 and wipe over

Hi Liza. Great budget kitchen really doesn’t look budget at all!!!!!!Love the colours you’ve chosen .You have given me some brill ideas to update our kitchen ie floor (which by the way looks like REAL tiles ) painting tiles and cupboards.Many many thanks you have great ideas

I'll definitely be opting for a white sink next time ( hopefully quite soon 🤞🤞🤞🤞 ) ...as we have a black 1 ...that was pretty expensive but has been an absolute nightmare to keep clean 😫

Hi Liza, your kitchen has held up so well. I painted my cabinets the same colour, the same time as you and is still perfect but I had the same problem with the handles so after a few months I just replaced them all. I love your big window, it lets in so much light, my window is only half the size but I do have a patio door in my kitchen which brightens it up. Enjoy the sunshine🌞😅

Hi, Liza. It’s me, Deb from Dallas. I just get the biggest kick out of you. You have a British accent which has always sounded so formal to me. But then when you’re with Mark, your laugh is purely American. Hahaha! Seriously, you laugh with an American accent. Lol. Such a cool dish drainer. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Fab video as always Liza. After cleaning my stainless steel oven and hob I use baby oil on it. Buff it off and it removes any marks or fingerprints and leaves it gleaming.

We had a cold front today. It was 88 this morning with a high of only 100. We haven’t had rain in weeks. We have to water our potted plants at least twice per day. We’re in the dog-days of Summer.

The paint on the cupboards has held up really well. I have a white composite sink and don’t know why I haven’t thought of using a magic eraser on it 🤦🏼♀️ bar keepers friend powder is another good one though if you have a stubborn stain that doesn’t want to come off. Other than needing a bit more tlc and regular cleaning I don’t think you can beat a white sink if it matches the kitchen ☺️

Hi Liza, our dining room is a catch all when we walk in house. Your kitchen has done well, my sink is cream and is a pain to keep clean so I’m now going to get my magic eraser and see if it gets rid of the marks on mine, thanks for the tip xxx

Hey Liza, this was a great look at how well things have held up! They've really been great changes that y'all made cause they've lasted! Even the handles are hardly noticeable until up close! I love this kitchen and can't imagine with it all changed later!
What is the built in appliance under the microwave? I don't remember from the original walk through! A fish stove maybe? Hmmm...
