It takes practice and skill but you can get there. The drop on the 75mm is pretty consistent and relatively flat within 2,000m it's quite easy to get a feeling for it. Don't get me wrong it's not APCR flat but for something only going like 740m/s it's not bad

Nope, The A-26 Invader was built by Douglas as an upgrade to their own A-20 Havoc. This is the Beechcraft XA-38 Grizzly, a competing prototype which aimed to supplement or replace the A-26. It likely would have gone into production in late 1945 to assist with the invasion of Japan, had the war not ended first. Budget cuts after the war meant that the existing A-26's were kept instead. The A-26 would eventually be replaced by both the Republic Thunderchief and the Douglas Skyraider in the late 1950s.
