Darnold is more than a "sneaky" athlete. He went to High school near me, and the dude was a running QB in high school, also really good basketball player and baseball.
People doubted Darnold because they thought he was only succeeding cuz of the scheme. And while that’s partly true, a lot of people forget the dude’s insane arm talent that got him drafted so highly. He finally gets to show that talent in a scheme that’s built around him and look how amazing he’s playing
I was super high on Darnold in that draft but I honestly thought the jets ruined him. I really think they did hurt him a little because his accuracy isn't quite there like it was. Not that he's inaccurate but many times he's a little off from hitting a reciever in stride. He's made up for it with making the correct read almost every play.
Sam Darnold has smvwry good accuracy on those on the run. Literally the complete opposite of Kirk Cousins. If Kirk was 10 degrees off kilter the throw was an interception.
He is in his upper 30s... idk if you know but the older you get the less agile, flexible and the more stiff and slow you become.. high level football takes a toll after 20+ years lol id take sam over "kurt" cousins though 😅
Darnold is playing great, but that bad third quarter pick that opened the door for the Packers was exactly what Kurt said his weakness was a couple of weeks ago: 1-2 just random, pressured, no look “eff it” throws into trouble per game. That one hurt a bit, but he came right back with the next two drives.
Sammy D is the fckn MAAANN this year I know he will not get MVP probably shouldnt either, but he should get some accolades for performing waaaay over expectations
During the game, it looks like sometimes he scrambles at the perfect time and steps up and throws a pass that ends up being a long touchdown. And the other times it seems he’s in there too long when he should run and it ends up being a sack because he doesn’t have time to throw it away at that point. Does it look like that on the all 22?
