Jeritza was the first Ariadne, in both versions, Strauss selected her and worked with her, always. If she sang in this speed, fast or slow, this was and is the real speed.

Many years have passed, and many ways of play this music, more slow or fast, and we are accustomed to our present way of performing, and it's ok, but also we have the opportunity to hear most of the first performers of great part of the XX century music, and to have precious first hand information. 🙏
