I've just always hated the lol faces tbh but I love watching the repaints that actually make the faces look better, I guess the factory faces look like 👁👄👁 this to me BTW she's cute
i cant tell if i hate em of like em. sometimes i look at them and think theyre adorable and other times im like absolutely not haha. i think ya definitely need to paint em in a certain style when doing repaints. or a more cartoonish style, realism/semi realisticish just looks creepy to me.thanks!

As someone who never had or wanted dolls as a kid except maybe some polly pockets here and there and friends with barbies I love watching these LOL customs especially because it makes you appreciate the dolls a lot. Since LOL dolls are new they're not something I come across; I don't have kids in my life and I don't frequent the toy aisles in stores as often as I'd like to. Seeing what all they actually come with (not in this particular video obviously), the way the faces are painted, and the slightly more realistic bodies is really cool (honestly I'm a fan of the nipples, everyone has nipples! I wish they had more average proportions though, it seems they're going for the new body "trend," like the kardashian body stereotype.. another topic entirely lol). I like how they can easily be appreciated by kids and adults. I remember some aspects of barbie and polly pockets and they were not nearly as interesting as far as clothes and accessories lol. I'll still always love my animal figurines and plush just like I did when I was a kid but maybe one day I'll get a doll and make it into an anthro character or something 😂
i think the lol dolls are definitely really cool in their own right. i kind of prefer the lol tweenz a little bit over these ones but all the intense stylization is definitely impactful and makes them stand out. i cant really tell if i like the super curvy body type of the lol dolls or if i wish they were a little bit more realistic. i guess its cool to have it as an option for customs even if it isnt my preferred thing. you should totally get an lol doll! i think its worth it to pick up atleast one :D

Just so everyone knows ombre colouring isn't when one colour changes from one colour to another colour. Ombre is when one specific colour changes within itself. When more then one colour changes it is called variegated. This doll is a miss for me. I do really love the LOL OMG dolls. I just bought a Lonestar doll and she is beautiful.

Sidenote: you can reactivate gouache paint with water no matter how old and crusty it is

you can re-constitute gouache by adding water, leave for 10 mins, then mix until paste-like (add water as needed), beautiful work though

what colors of perlex powder do you use for your dolls (specifically when you use blue on the skin)
i use a bunch of different colors but i really love macropearl and interference blue on blue or green skin tones.
