    Hello dekay.
    Today I recreated the T-track system using a curtain rail.
    To buy a few T-tracks and make sleds, the track costs more than 10$-20$.
    The curtain rails are 7$, 3600 mm.
    This is enough to make four or five sleds.
    It's less sophisticated than the T-track, but strong enough.
    If you are a woodworker as a hobby try it once ~
    Please enjoy watching the video today
    Always thank you very much for your support. =)
    If you press the 'subscription' and 'thumbs' button, it will be a big help to me. Thank you. :)

    MDF is thin under the track . This may fold up on you when handling it. Add another sheet under layer.
    Without the fence you also have moderate length taper jig for light square type stock. Caution: Dense stock like oak and a too fast feed and light track may let go. Fly up.

      @uncletoy774 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      so what if its thin did you not see he epoxied in a metal track thus returning it to prior cut status hell its more than likely stronger and why would you put a fence on a tapering jig ive never seen anyone do that. stop with the safety troll crap hes a grown ass man

      @@uncletoy774 It is not the extruded track you are use to seeing/using. It is a light gauge folded over U track. Circular saw power can easily pull this light track up. Cutting any dado half way into MDF or particle board it will flex and fold up with moderate handling use regardless of any epoxy. Weak spot is the inside corners of the dado and is a constant in line across the sheet. No amount of epoxy is going to resist the mechanical advantage and mass of the sheet bending enough to tear apart the 3/8 inch resin/sawdust material and epoxy glue line. Epoxy stick left behind will be in one piece.

      im not an idiot I can see and read thank you. so I know exactly what hes using and what it consists of. the bend (fold) in the metal is there not only for use its also there to add strength. for example garage door hinges back in the day were just flat sheet metal. today they are thinner and have bends throughout the metal thus adding strength and allowing thinner material cutting costs as well. 2nd hes using a table saw which cuts with a downward strike so there's not going to be anything flying up in the air. 3rd is that wood no matter what form has this neat quality of soaking up any material used on it ( a glued/adhered joint is always stronger than the wood itself). now I used mdf and particle when I first started woodworking because it was cheap for almost all my jigs and sled never having an issue. saying that if he treats it like a 200lb gorilla then yes it will break. but if hes respects his work then he'll treat it accordingly and shouldn't have a problem although I do see one point that leans in your direction. the sever amount of dumb no common since boneheads that will use tin foil instead of curtain rod, hot glue and four small hinge screws with cork board of the same thickness of the folded tin foil. thus causing all kinds of havoc. so basically damned if you do damned if you don't

      @@uncletoy774 The bend of such light gauge material for strength is not strong enough. As said this light gauge material can be torn up by any standard circular saw or router. It will all just end up in your face. proper track should be used not this light gauge crap. The bend is for the hold downs to grab not strength. Spend the extra $2 or good luck with the facial repair surgery.

      영상에서 사용한 목재는 MDF 판넬이예요
      MDF는 내구성이 약해서 실제 제작하실때는 합판을 사용하시는걸 추천합니다~

      They are thin metal. As long as you don't crank down on the clamps.
