It's time that new compositions are made or old ones interpreted experimentally for the classical dance taking cues from the insights of women-centered cultural traditions and liturgy as well as incorporating new forms of freedoms in performance body

Have heard the Jathi starting with om nama Shivaya from Kerala state school kalolsavam that varnam was performed by Parvathy Raj who was the star of that kalolsavam
The Jathi was composed for Guru Priyadarshini Govind. It is her jathis that are used in the Varnam. The choreography in this video however is Rukmini's
