গ্রহণযোগ্য টিউশন ফিতে মানসম্মত শিক্ষা’ প্রতিপাদ্য নিয়ে ২০০৩ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয় গ্রিন ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বাংলাদেশ। ২০১১ সালে ইউএস-বাংলা গ্রুপ দায়িত্ব গ্রহণের পর এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উল্লেখযোগ্য অগ্রগতি সাধিত হয়।
একবিংশ শতাব্দীর চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবিলায় শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান গড়ার সঙ্গে অন্য যে বিষয় চ্যালেঞ্জ হয়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে, তা হলো ‘কোয়ালিটি এডুকেশন’। মূলত এই লক্ষ্যকে সামনে রেখেই যুগোপযোগী, মানবিক মূল্যবোধ ও দক্ষতাসম্পন্ন গ্র্যাজুয়েট তৈরিতে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে রাজধানীর স্বনামধন্য এই উচ্চশিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান।

ঢাকার সন্নিকটে পূর্বাচল আমেরিকান সিটির নান্দনিক পরিবেশে গড়ে উঠেছে গ্রিন ইউনিভার্সিটির স্থায়ী ক্যাম্পাস। চলছে ভর্তি কার্যক্রম, ক্লাসসহ নিয়মিত কর্মকাণ্ড। ক্যাম্পাসে রয়েছে ইনডোর ও আউটডোরে খেলাধুলার সব আয়োজন। এ জন্য গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে আন্তর্জাতিক মানের বিশাল খেলার মাঠ। আন্তর্জাতিক স্টেডিয়ামগুলোর সঙ্গে সামঞ্জস্য রেখে মাঠটির ব্যাসার্ধ ঠিক করা হয়েছে। ক্যাম্পাসে যেতে রাজধানীর বেশ কয়েকটি পয়েন্ট থেকে নিজস্ব পরিবহনের ব্যবস্থাও রেখেছে এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়।

Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), one of the leading private universities in Bangladesh, was founded in 2003 under the Private University Act 1992 with a vision to create a global higher education center of excellence.
