Thank you very much for your detailed videos and the material lists in the description below. That helps a lot to buy the appropriate stuff afterwards! :)
Having used both, you could use Squimpish for the head but it's not as easy to work with. I would suggest blending with a soft material like lazer dub to allow you to mould
Finally getting round to tying some pike flies, so thanks for putting these up Paul. I've mostly got buck hair - would that do as an alternative material that you spin or is it too brittle?
Paul Monaghan hi paul yes bucktail - what I meant was do you loop bucktail for flies like this one. I did try it once but it looked like a bushy growth under a few synthetic fibres! I guess I just need to keep practicing and watch a lot more of these. Thanks for sharing them. 👍
@@Fishwish learn how to tie a Bulkhead if using bucktail. I wouldn't spin it personally but that's not to say you can't. I think you are referring to the mid section of the fly where I spin using Strung Fuzzy Fibre. You can use bucktail tied like a BULkhead in the mid. Have a look at the Reversed BULKhead vid
Hey Paul, would it be cheeky to ask where you get your nayat and kanakelon? Brill video I've just started trying to tie pike flies and these are amazing help 👌👍
You'll get most from Bigstreamers.com (flash, nayat). Eyes and UV is Deercreek.co.uk. Kanekalon shop around or use Gliss and Glint (same stuff). Strung Fuzzy I get direct from Hedron, but I know Glasgow Angling Centre sell it..hope that helps
Beautiful fly that gave me already a pike in a not so easy deep lake. Thanks for the video.

Kanekalon, I though I was the only one using that. I have been for a good while. Nice fly. I was waiting for this. Thank you.
Excellent fly! I especially love the dubbing loop to make the body. I bet that it really looks good wet! 👍
Love the colours on this one Paul! Another awesome, and very much appreciated tutorial 👌🏻👌🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Excellent instruction, just wondering, does this fly swim hook up or hook down?
Great instruction. Is Squipish Hair an alternative to Nayat?

No worries bud. Do you mean bucktail? as I have plenty of vids where I use it. Have a look at the Flashy Deceiver

Tear Mender mostly. Soaks in nice so the nayat behaves itselft
