Yshsvs Fygcftygx I prefer the anime, fantastic animation, pacing, voice acting and an amazing soundtrack. It's pretty much a perfect adaptation. Also sports and action mangas are always more exciting in motion.
Ippo's probably my favorite anime ever and this is my first time getting a good look at any of the games. Let's just hope this new one is better... Great episode!
Awesome! I just started watching Hajime No Ippo a few weeks ago and it's quickly becoming my favorite anime. Pretty cool coincidence that you guys are playing this game!
The "kissing" thing boxers do, as far as I know is to test the mental condition of their enemy. If they go with it, they are down to earth and focused. If they flip... they are idiots and easy to read.
The Drunken Coward unless you're going up against a boxer who could theoretically knock you out within a couple of seconds... assuming you're not also a boxer...dog...thing.
YunGest Well yea, I'm not gonna go up to a boxer and kiss him to test if he's mentally strong. But it's "boxer vs boxer". So the one boxer actually needs to know his mental state. And he knows he won't be beat up. In the ring this would lead to him winning, since the opponent loses his cool. And outside of the ring he'll be saved by... everyone. Holding the other one back.
yeah, but logic makes things not funny. so be stupider, and less thought out. type words like swag and thot and bruh, an mak a lut uv spelln mztake un porpus
by the way. to the "why don't boxers hit with two fists at a time". It's mainly to do with lack of power if you tried spreading the weight through two fists... your punch would only be half as strong most likely, AND it would probably lack the rotation that most boxing punches have, effectively making it weaker still. Who uses "two at a time" punches are either like the guy in the picture(from the anime itself), hitting at the same time using purely leg and back strength (but it's easy to get out of the way), or like the girl in a dogi (the up and down punch), are only used to surprise an opponent, not actually hurt them (you'd be lucky if they actually hurt the guy.)
Punching, like throwing, is very much a one-armed activity, like throwing. Can you imagine trying to throw two baseballs or two footballs at once? So much of it relies on twisting of the body, and follow through.
***** DIdn't Paul wear that hat in some of the old old old Continue eps that were still under Gamervision before they even became part of Normal Boots?
Holy shit this has to be one of your best videos ever...just started watching you guys a little over a year ago and I was laughing my ass off on this one!! I rarely ever leave comments on youtube but I just had to tell you guys how awesome you are. Noice!!!
The editing on the episodes has gotten really top notch in the past say 30 or so episodes. The show is still improving even after all this time :) Awesome job and keep up the great work!
just a side note the reason he is at the tree in the beginning is because it is where multiple things have happened in the story, namely learning how to throw punches faster especially jabs by holding his hand loose before the moment of impact.
This looks like quite a nice boxing videogame, all things considered. I am impressed. Next video, you totally have to do the Dempsey Roll. I will cheer for you so much if you do!
Marry Nick Fuck Josh Kill Paul... only because I really want to know what kind of freak Josh is in bed and Nick seems like a super cuddly lovable hubby type... unfortunately that leaves Paul to die.. sorry bruh.
I would Marry Nick because he seems like he would be a loving caring husband, Fuck Josh for sure because I bet he is a mad beast in the sack and Kill Paul because he would be the most likely to come back as a ghost and haunt me and he could be my ghost buddy.
"Will Paul realize that it's Apollo who drives the sun and not Mercury? Tune in next time!" Pedantic bitchery aside, kudos on the classical references.
Isaac Morrison I know, I got the wrong son of Zues there. I was mostly think of the story of Phaeton and how he fucked up when he got his chance to ride the chariot for a day.
I think it's the lighting... I don't remember Nick's glasses having so much glare, but something is making them look slightly smoky and more washed out than before.
Hajime No Ippo is a great sports anime, and I highly recommend anyone to watch it. It's an ongoing anime that has been through three seasons and you likely won't be disappointing unless you also read the manga (only slightly due to minor cuts in the story). The first season can be daunting on the surface level because it's around 75 episodes in length, but the pace is fast and keeps you entertained easily by developing all the characters you'll want to know about - and that's pretty much all of them. After the framework established in season one, season two and three steady the pace back to a traditional 25 episode sprint. It's like every sports anime because it focuses on the internal conflicts within the characters, but at the same time it has the best animation I've seen in a sports anime to show the external conflict in the ring. Each punch is framed to where you feel like it carries weight, and every hit is extended with flare to the point where you feel the momentum building within the muscles of the boxers. The soundtrack always fits the situations and blends in seamlessly, and the openings and endings will make you want to keep watching to find out what happens next. To the extent of my knowledge there is no sports anime I could recommend more than this.
Vorg Zangief, a Russian boxer in this game/anime, has a special called the White Fang. It's an uppercut and an over-head punch, like you mention in the 7:50-ish mark. c:
Its funny how they talk about several things that actually happen in the anime including the two fist punch thing i believe volg does it or maybe that was rocky but there is also the frog attack ippo's friend does that involves a double punch. They also talk about his "cod piece" which if your a fan of the show you will understand why thats funny.
In real life boxer Emmanuel Augustus has done a two handed punch. If you haven't seen it, or are aware of him, definitely check him out, probably most entertaining boxer in history..and closest thing to a video game character come to life in the boxing world
The knock-down animations are hilarious. I've only played the PS2 Fight Night boxing games, but after watching the Ippo anime, I think I'm going to play this.
I was really getting into the game play this looks really awesome to play, I do like how there are no health/stamina meters. I got to go find myself a copy of this.
I have to admit, I wasn't expecting this to be a 2-parter. That's some sneaky shit there, but I love it. This game looks really cool actually for an old PS1 game. I'd definitely continue it myself, based on the footage.
The double punch thing they were talking about is totally a thing in Hajime no Ippo. It's Volg Zangief's signature punch(es) 'the White Fang'. An uppercut to overhand combination that's so quick that it strikes the opponent's head simultaneously from different angles, rattling the brain. Because ANIME PHYSICS!
This game spoiled me when it came to boxing games at the time because of it's intuitive controls. But it was pretty awesome because I remembered that later pretty much boxing games started to play just like it.
The models in this game are actually really charming and well-made. I'm pleasantly surprised.
The audience on the other hand...
SaikoTaiko Haha Yeah! Cardbooooard
The models playing this game are really well made to
This game looks amazing for a ps1 game
Snoozebotz
Yeah! It's almost like it's a PS2 game!
oh wait.
I need a "WELCOME TO NIPPON, BITCH!" shirt ASAP.
Seconded!
Third that!!
Didrik Schubertsson DO IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!
Hajime No Ippo is an excelent anime
*Manga
Excellent Manga too.
And an even better manga
Yshsvs Fygcftygx I prefer the anime, fantastic animation, pacing, voice acting and an amazing soundtrack. It's pretty much a perfect adaptation. Also sports and action mangas are always more exciting in motion.
But 1100 chapters is pretty sweet too
Ippo's probably my favorite anime ever and this is my first time getting a good look at any of the games. Let's just hope this new one is better...
Great episode!
This is such a fucking stellar episode. Thanks yall!
So if you don't like some randy kissing you you're not focused seems legit lol
The Drunken Coward unless you're going up against a boxer who could theoretically knock you out within a couple of seconds... assuming you're not also a boxer...dog...thing.

"it's like real life... if you fight a guy, you don't know. there's no meters."
Woah, i havent watched a continue video in forever but it seems to me like Nick has lost a ton of weight along the line. Good work man !
Great episode as per usual! Bonus content for the week is also approved.
by the way. to the "why don't boxers hit with two fists at a time". Also, throwing both fists means you don't have any defense. You throw one punch at a time so you have one hand/arm to protect your head/ribs.
You guys must have been former navy seals stricken to a life of internet commentary.
nope, I'm just an amateur boxer who knows the fine details but is incapable of pulling it all off due to poor reflexes. Just informing :D
Punching, like throwing, is very much a one-armed activity, like throwing. Can you imagine trying to throw two baseballs or two footballs at once? So much of it relies on twisting of the body, and follow through.
watch me!
I'm glad whoever edited the video manage to find an image of someone double punching from Hajime No Ippo.
This is one of the most exciting episodes of Continue and they didn't even have to pull out the Epic Maneuver. Good job guys.
Did Paul inherit jontrons old hat?
I believe the hat simply decided to switch hosts. There's only so much life force in a single human, you know.
*****
DIdn't Paul wear that hat in some of the old old old Continue eps that were still under Gamervision before they even became part of Normal Boots?
Darke Imp i do believe so. man that hat gets around. not shaming though.
Haven't watched the video yet, just wanted to say that Hajime no Ippo (the anime/manga this is based on) is awesome.
The Wii game is one of the best boxing video games I've ever played. It wrecked me and I'm not even sure I could play it anymore.
Just watched the video; it too is awesome.
aka the anime that i will always remember for that one dude tugging on another dude's shlong claiming his is more powerful. memories.
That dimmed lighting in this episode is nice. Makes you gentlemen look even sexier.
Holy shit this has to be one of your best videos ever...just started watching you guys a little over a year ago and I was laughing my ass off on this one!! I rarely ever leave comments on youtube but I just had to tell you guys how awesome you are. Noice!!!
+NemesisZero Neo Thank you! Glad you had a good time.
The editing on the episodes has gotten really top notch in the past say 30 or so episodes. The show is still improving even after all this time :) Awesome job and keep up the great work!
Consistently makes me laugh watching your videos. Never stop.
"Oh no, it's a black dude!"-Paul Ritchey, 2014.
SECOND TIME'S THE CHARM! Thank you for reuploading this, guys.
For anyone wondering: Hajime no Ippo is not only the greatest Sports Anime, it's one of the best Animes period.
Dempsey Roll.
That's all you need to look up to become a fan of Ippo.
I LOVED this. I love Hajime no Ippo and this show. Thanks for bringing them together!
They mentioned a cod piece but they dont know about Ippo's Chinpo
*The graphics have aged as well as Goldie Hawn has.*
I love Hajime no Ippo. Very entertaining episode, guys.
This game looks f**king amazing!
It really is
just a side note the reason he is at the tree in the beginning is because it is where multiple things have happened in the story, namely learning how to throw punches faster especially jabs by holding his hand loose before the moment of impact.
4:36 "Knock out!" Even though he is still wriggling around on the floor and is clearly conscious.
Dude.
Best continue show ever! Keep up the great work you guys are hilarious!
Did it really look like this? Back then i thought the graphics was realistic as it gets. Damn time
This looks like quite a nice boxing videogame, all things considered. I am impressed.
Next video, you totally have to do the Dempsey Roll. I will cheer for you so much if you do!
i love this part 1/2 stuff you're doing! keep it up please
Nick, Paul, Josh.
Marry, fuck, kill.
Go!
Fuck them all. Marry them all. Kill them all for enjoying the first two as much as me.
Marry Luke
Kill Nick, Paul, Dom,
Fuck Josh, he'll be my Princess Leia slave
#Luketinue
Marry Nick
Fuck Josh
Kill Paul...
only because I really want to know what kind of freak Josh is in bed and Nick seems like a super cuddly lovable hubby type... unfortunately that leaves Paul to die.. sorry bruh.
Fuck them all then Marry them all, Dont kill anyone
I would Marry Nick because he seems like he would be a loving caring husband, Fuck Josh for sure because I bet he is a mad beast in the sack and Kill Paul because he would be the most likely to come back as a ghost and haunt me and he could be my ghost buddy.
Definitely recommend reading the Manga or watching the anime. It's incredible and funny as hell! HOLY SHIT!!! 2 EPISODES!
Oh man. Love this episode. Can't wait for part 2.
I love me some Ippo! Gosh durnit, 'Tinue... You've done it again!
This episode was amazing! Thank you guus needed that!
Part 2? D: Wha? Has this been a thing before?
Once. They made two parts for Shovel Knight.
I wouldn't mind if they made more two parters.
SaikoTaiko
I mean it just seems weird to be this far and have multiple parts. Also I don't think I watched their shovel knight stuff o.O I forget
Shovel Knight is pretty hard to forget..
I guess they want to go in a new direction with their show? Or they just reeeally enjoyed this game :P
I totally thought it was a joke until the video ended.
does it really matter if they do a two part? Why is everyone so rigid and unable to accept any slight change?
"Will Paul realize that it's Apollo who drives the sun and not Mercury? Tune in next time!"
Pedantic bitchery aside, kudos on the classical references.
Isaac Morrison I know, I got the wrong son of Zues there. I was mostly think of the story of Phaeton and how he fucked up when he got his chance to ride the chariot for a day.
But who is even counting, Palamedes?!
Continue? i was mostly think palamedes, too.
I usually don't like sports games but I'm really enjoying this. I think its because of how hyped everyone gets when there's a knockout.
I, too, wish to visit Nippin one day.
Does anyone else here the echo? It's pretty clear around 9:40 when Paul say "Oh!", you can hear a soft echo... Whats up with that`?
I love that they said double punch and then showed a guy doing it from the show.
7:42 You should look up Emanuel Augustus highlights, he totally throws a double punch and it looks brutal
Great episode. Entertaining the whole way through.
Two Best Friends Play talk about Ippo all the time, now i can see it in action!
Somethings different and idk what
It's the couch
I think it's the lighting... I don't remember Nick's glasses having so much glare, but something is making them look slightly smoky and more washed out than before.
Paul is wearing a hat
Isaac Haddox Definitely the lighting
I think they closer to the camera. Either the camera is sitting closer or it is zoomed in a bit.
Nice Koyaanisqatsi reference lol

That joke had me replaying it over and over again. Just the delivery was amazing.

P.S. Floyd Mayweather has stated he was the most difficult opponent he has ever faced!
Over 1000 fucking chapters.
About a fucking boxing manga.
TEN OUTTA TEN
This is one of my favorite manga/anime series.
I fucking love Hajime no Ippo. It's my favorite anime.
Just thought I should let you all know.
Is Paul wearing JonTron's hat?
Reeve Isaacs That god damned bastard stole my hat. MY HAT. Ya hear me?!
Continue?
Fight him for it.
It is the only way.
Continue? You should get a cybernetic talking bird as payback !
(Give him Dom's voice )
Continue? SETTLE IT IN SMASH!!!!!!
Steveguy Bobsworth There can be only one!
So, I guess this is literally a CONTINUE from all of them.
Is it just me, or does someone here a very quiet echo in the background on their voices throughout most of the video?
Koyanisqaatsi references-- this is why I watch you guys!
The fights were really cool to watch! Nice game!!
This episode was really good. That game looks great too.
Is it just me or does the vid look like it has a gray tint?
Are you guys using a new camera or did Paul burn burgers?
Vegan burgers*
I think they been smokin' dat space weed.
Looks like they didn't apply the colour grading they usually do. Definitely smokin' dat space weed.
Anyone ever seen that fight at the end of Every Which Way But Loose? Man they punch each other in the face SO MUCH.
i spit my drink everywhere and im laughing so hard im crying. best one in a long time holy shit
Is there a name for that punch/pose/thingamajig at 7:50?
I started watching Hajime no Ippo because of this episode. It's pretty good. Every episode is like a Rocky movie haha.
i now want a HD remake of this game!
So that's where Jons hat went!
The knock-down animations are hilarious. I've only played the PS2 Fight Night boxing games, but after watching the Ippo anime, I think I'm going to play this.
It's super satisfying when you get the hang of it. Maybe check out the new Ippo game as well.
I was really getting into the game play this looks really awesome to play, I do like how there are no health/stamina meters. I got to go find myself a copy of this.
This is a personal favorite anime of mine, its so good
Read the Manga.
I'm all in with the wind behind me now.
14:08 Nice sound bite. You Paul'd it.
Josh Henderson: Confirmed best at being Japan Rocky.
I have to admit, I wasn't expecting this to be a 2-parter. That's some sneaky shit there, but I love it. This game looks really cool actually for an old PS1 game. I'd definitely continue it myself, based on the footage.
Man, I'm really digging Nick's Shawn of The Dead shirt.
I fucking love Hajime No Ippo its my favorite manga, I am so jelly that you have this game
You guys are so HILLARIOUS
"Our hero is the number one punch-man, Rocky" If only they ended that sentence at one punch man!
alright i seriously never wanted them to stop playing this game so im glad there doing a part 2
The Ippo-Miyata rivalry is *_almost_* as homoerotic as the Naruto-Sasuke rivalry.
I was breeding a pinsir while Paul said "like a pinsir attack."
Did Paul turn on dego vision? Everyone has an 80s dirty tan.
Does a bear wear dego cologne in the woods?
Josh
Josh looks blue. Paul looks like he's been sunbathing directly on the surface of the sun and Nick is just... Nick.
Return of the Hat of Paul!
Wow a Hajime no Ippo game on Continue? Awesome.
I've only played the GBA one.
This game spoiled me when it came to boxing games at the time because of it's intuitive controls. But it was pretty awesome because I remembered that later pretty much boxing games started to play just like it.
15:19 I want that on a t-shirt
Awesome as always
Part 2!?!?!? WOOOAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *cough* i mean uh..yeah, cool, part 2. Wait, on a SATURDAY!?!? WWOOOAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! *dies*
I would pay MILLIONS to watch Mike Tyson box a giant weeble wobble.
This game is hard as fuck. The fight they ended on against Jason Otsuma is where I always got stuck.
Oh man, an Ippo game! My body is ready. :-D
Work that body...work that body...make sure you don't hurt nobody
*Welcome to the comments section, how tough are ya?*
Evan Garcia You need parental permission for that shit?
Once, a long time ago... I was a Moonblade!
