I like old home movies. They are a cool look into a past sometimes remembered. My parents have lots of photos from this time with my grandparents too. I loved looking through them as a child always asking my parents who people were if I didn't recognize them.
Wow ! what a Xmas 1963 was. My first one that I remember, the excitement was everywhere .Happy days for all the family, Well at least it felt that way.
One thing I remember about shooting 8mm movies was the hot, bright light you had to use. It was always fun to get the projector and set the screen up to watch our home movies though. I wonder what they would think of our technology now?
I was born in 1953 and the grownups had their share of struggles back then. Us children were taught how to help out, how to respect others and how to become decent citizens. It wasn't as easy as you think!!!!
First Christmas in LAGUNA BEACH 💦 ca . Mom and us 5 kids after our parents divorce what a blessing however.one of the sweetest towns in the USA and Still going strong .however a little more expensive 😒🤦
It took money to afford a color camera not to mention the film. I had a close family in 1963 and my parents took photos but couldn't afford moving pictures.
I was thinking someone was doing well in this family. TV sets were still rare & there are a lot of resents under that tree. Nice big living room too. 🎄
Christmas 1963 - JFK was killed a month before, THE BEATLES would change everything in 2 months This is the last Christmas that we never heard of Vietnam .
Just like my family Christmas when I was a kid. Miss those times❤
I bet I could turn that tv on. Just walk right up to it , grab a knob and turn it on. And watch it. I miss those days.
This could have been our tree & living room when I was 7. Thanks for the memory tickles
Thanks for sharing your home movies ! I grew up in the 60s brings back lots of memories it was much more simpler then .
Love everything about this. Thanks for sharing.
This was just a few weeks before the beginning of time. So long ago.And far away. A different planet.

Too bad there are no stores anymore. And I miss all the magazines.

Very nice. I was about the same age as the little boys, and now I’m almost 62.
I was thinking the same thing. I turned 63 not that long ago most of the adults in the video if not all of them have passed away

Things weren"t simpler back then, they just had grownups that took care of all that stuff for you.

December ‘63 was our first Christmas in the new house in NJ.
Our house in 1963 had that same carpet!!
Kennedy was gone but life went on. America at it's best.
Merry Christmas! I bet some of these ladies are in their 90s today???

All I can think of is "That guy's dead. Definitely passed on. Long ago." What the hell is wrong with me?
Good resolution for 8mm but why is the camera so "jumpy?"
This would have been an upper middle class family .
raelly cool
I was born the next day!
Happy Birthday!
