    Fortune cook, I enjoy watching your video and appreciate your time to respond back to a question I had. I will get ready to reload slugs when I come back home in June after I finish working overseas.
    For now I got the mec 600 jr off eBay. I find your videos to be a great source of information.
    Happy new year and keep them coming.

      calevel florida Congratulations on your 600Jr. It will be a useful press no matter what else you wind up owning. Thanks for the good word, and take care of yourself until you get back to the states and beyond... Best Regards

    That Dillion powder measure is spot on, I have had the Square "B" since the 90's and no telling how many 1000's of rounds it's loaded, and just got my 550 in today I'm ready for high volume rifle rounds now.

      TRprepper - Why stop there with rifle rounds? Your 550 will do anything within reason, and you can keep that Square Deal press for the caliber that you bought it for...whenever I use my Dillons, I remember what that sargeant said in "Saving Private Ryan" - "We're in business!!" Best to ya

    I set up my RCBS powder measure based on watching your older videos. It really helps with the extruded powders. I have been searching your videos, but I can't seem to find your powder charge for your slug loads (7/8th oz lee) with Unique.

      I just found it :) , yet another great vid FC45LC. Good shooting and Happy New Year

      Adam Kushner Thanks Adam, only problem with slug loads is that we're using lots of powder each load. With the powder shortage, I've shifted over to using 20.3-20.7 grains of Promo with the Lyman 525 slug/ Fiocchi case / 12S3 wad since I am very low on Unique. With the 7/8 oz slug, I'd go to 21 grains Promo/Red Dot using the same Fiocchis and the 12S0 wad. Best Regards

    As always great video,you would be very welcomed here in bowling green ky should you want to make the trip.I happen to have a pretty decent range behind the house here and we're only a few miles north of old hickok45 so maybe if we make enough noise and tell a few bad jokes about Tennessee we can get Hickok riled up lol.I. Really do hold yourself and Hickok at the top of my go to list when I want to Find information on a topic whether it be reloading or a particular gun. Thank you for being such a class act

    i use a baffle in al of my powder measures, they are available from rcbs

    • @FortuneCookie45LC
      @FortuneCookie45LC  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      peteralexben Baffle is a good idea. I've just kept the level in my measure over 1/2 full at all times, and it sure makes emptying the measure easier. Best Regards

    Good video. Whatever you do, do it the same every time. And don't choose a method until it has yielded good results EVERY time. If that means intake, smack, exhaust, do it. Whatever it takes. But once it's figured out, never change it.

      spraynpray Wow! But CA is a big state...but think of the possibilities, There have been collaboration videos before, but that was with YT posters fairly close together that already knew each other (like in the Shooting Corridor of America). Would have been a great video... Best to ya...

    How come you don't use the powder measure in the mec 600 jr?

    • @FortuneCookie45LC

      Jason Reeves Great question, I can dial up any amount of tenths of a grain that I want...My MEC only has those bushings. Best Regards

    Several of my favorite 30-30 Win, 44 Rem mag and 45-70 Gov't loads have been prepared ENTIRELY with the yellow Lee dippers for years. It is the finicky electronic and mechanical powder measures I don't trust. How can you go wrong with yellow plastic dippers that can't get out of adjustment , don't have parts to fail or batteries to run out? The Lee dippers are so simple to use a chimp could be trained to do it correctly.

    • @FortuneCookie45LC
      @FortuneCookie45LC  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      bushed274 - Obviously, you have a consistent method of use with those dippers - and Lee provides them so that shooters really do have the powder dispensation covered. Continued good results to ya, FC Steve

      SHOOTER READY TV That he does. Hickok45 is somewhat of a folk hero. Them Tennessee boys can really shoot, can't they? Been that way since Daniel Boone's days. And Alvin York said that folks said he could shoot a rifle before he was weaned, but they were exhaggeratin' a bit. And the nicest private shooting ranges in America are in Tennessee or thereabouts...In 1930-1950s Central Valley, California, my father told me that you could shoot at fruit in the trees with 8mm Mauser rifles and not endanger anyone. Now, with all the people, that's nearly legally impossible anywhere in the state. Best Regards to you

      JunkfoodZombie Visiting you and this friend of mine that retired and moved to Tennessee would be a fantastic trip...He is on the other side of the state from Nashville, and he tells me he has a CCW permit and he has his own shooting range in the back yard on the other side of the bridge he just built. Someday after I retire (will be a while)...Best to ya for a great 2015
