it was much colder than I thought it was going to be (we even got snow!) so make sure you've got a nice warm jacket and a good warm sleeping bag. I did the mistake of taking a two-three season sleeping bag and boy was I cold! hope you have an amazing time! any more questions don't hesitate!
Hi, we had to pack clothes and anything you would need during the trek into a small duffel bag (just some clothes and toiletries) and you would walk with your day bag with water in it and the lunch that is provided for you. Your "big bag" is sent to the next camp you are going to after the trek. hope this helps, if you've got any more questions just let me know! hope you also enjoyed the video!
my school is going on this trip next year and I’m very in two miss about it, I would be at the end of year 10 when going, and I’m just worried 4 weeks is a long time away from home. also how much percentage wise was hiking and stuff compared to building things?
Peggy Rowe 4 weeks is a long time away from home...BUT you are on the go all the time and are around friends so you barely notice it! So for the project work on total you spend about 3 weeks on that with a few days for transporting to the different camps (nice long bus rides!) and we did a few “practice hikes” one we went to see the condors and one was to see an big Incan hole in the ground. The hike itself was like 4 days and you top it off with macchu picchu! You’re gonna love it! Any more questions just ask!
I got a job pretty much as soon as I could and that was how I raised the majority. Another way was selling sweets and snacks at school with my friend as a “tuck shop” in addition to all this I organised a “pamper night” and got body shop, forever living, Avon and others to pay £10 for a table and donate a prize for a raffle. Then sold tickets for entry to the event (think it was about £5 a ticket) and got some local beauticians to do some nail painting. Raffle and entry tickets earned me about £500 and then it’s whatever you make of the night 😊 did this twice and plenty of Christmas fairs and summer fairs just selling little crafts 🙂 hope that helped. Don’t hesitate to ask any other questions. I recommend doing the pamper nights around Mother’s Day ☺️
