My brother has a is200t and I agree with you completely. Full straight pipes on smaller engines don’t sound great. He had a full cat back done with two flowmaster flow fx and it’s a nice rumble but super nice while driving
Agree to get rid of the other mid-mufflers/resonators and I would put some Vibrant resonators right before the tip. IMHO, they have sounded pretty good with these turbo 4's.
It depends what you are getting done. Over where I'm at, my local muffler shop only charged me $70 for a basic muffler delete, and the welds look clean. I went back for a resonator delete months later and was same price. 500 should only be if you are getting your entire exhaust replaced with new pipes, but even then that seems like a lot. When I went back for my resonator delete, I asked how much would it be if they replaced my pipe with 3 inch pipe from the cats all the way to the back, and they said 300. I didn't end up doing, but I'm just saying from my own experience, the cost.
If you're going to delete a muffler on a 4-cylinder car at least replace the factory resonators with performance ones.

I have the v6, it is crazy sounding with aftermarket exhaust and midpipe
If the owner would of remove the other resonators then it’ll sound even better
I agree , I straight piped my Lexus gs300 w resonators deleted and it sounds amazing🔥🔥
