Is it possible to replace the batteries in this power bank. They appear to be 18650s. If it is possible, is there less tear down involved than what you had to go through to work on the board? Thanks for the video!
You need to grab a set of digital calipers and measure the distance between the through hole posts on the usb-a header. After that - it's just a matter of going over to digikey and comparing the photos of the different headers with the one you want to replace. When you find a likely candidate - you need to download the data sheet and go to the technical drawings towards the end of the datasheet and compare your measured dimensions with theirs. That's just the task of finding and matching the part. You also need a way to remove the broken header which is a whole other skill set and set of tools. You will need a soldering and something called "desoldering compound" - best product on the market to use is Chipquick SMD-1. It's a special type of solder that stays molten for anywhere from 3-5 seconds which gives you a chance to use it to simultaneously melt the solder around the 4 or 5 installation posts allowing you pull the part off the PCB.
Unfortunately I don't. You might want to grab the dimensions with a set of digital calipers and see if anything in the digikey catalog fits those parameters. www.digikey.com/en/products/filter/lcd-oled-graphic/107
Oscar - unfortunately no - from the brief time I had it it appeared to be a proprietary oled display. Sorry for your trouble there - it's a nice power bank.
@@MochaboyRC Ah i see the ribbon has 18 pins and it's a 1.14inch display, if I were to order a generic part is there any reason it wouldn't work? I.e. What's proprietary about it?
Unfortunately no - I would imagine digikey, but failing that - I'd have to research the size and number of conductors on the ribbon cable, size of the screen and see if a suitable replacement can be found on some of the chinese electronics sites. The issue is the oled driver and whether or not it's compatible with the board so might take some trial and error. What exactly happened to yours?

@@MochaboyRC So SHARGE was kind and is sending me a replacement, AND I ordered the screen from TopWin. I would be happy to send you both screens for a comparison to go along with a repair, but the shipping cost may prove prohibitive. I'm in Southern Ontario, Canada. @@EpicallyJess Yeah I think that could work - why don't we take this to email and work out the details...my email should be in the "About" card in the channel/video details (just turned it on - never realized I didn't have that published).
Excellent Video! I actually have this Storm2. Got it with a discount and a gift card.

Absolutely - whether or not it's worth your time is a different story though
I lost the mini screws that hold the metal plates u have any idea what types those are?
I need to replace USBA on this powerbank. Any tips how to locate the part number?
