Pen Cayetano Goubana Song vintage 2008

Born in 1954 in Dangriga, Stann Creek District, Belize, Pen Cayetano is a painter, singer, songwriter, percussionist, guitarist, and a cultural revivalist for the Garinagu. Pen Cayetano along with Mohobub Flores founded the Turtle Shell Band and the Punta Rock music genre in 1979.
This vintage street recording of the song Goubana (Garifuna word for Mahogany) was done by Manolo Romero in Dangriga in 2008 the same year the Cayetanos returned to Belize. Pen, his wife and Mali performing.
