Dragging out my soapbox.... Frankly, 500 Moonstones is an insult considering all the money we've spent on this game. This game used to be fun and I could lose myself in it all day to take my mind off my chronic pain. Now the game just frustrates me. The Devs should take a good long look at Palia. That game is FREE! That is where I spend all my time, enjoying the beauty and relaxing, truly cozy, MMO. Yesterday I spent 16 hours playing Palia and never even thought about DDLV. Today I forced myself to log in to DDLV to do a half hearted Dreamsnap and quickly logged out. There is nothing new in Scrooge's place, I stopped doing the TOM boutique a week after it launched because all it is is a push to buy things, I don't care about the stupid popcorn buckets and am sick of picking up all those buttons messing up my designs. There is nothing new and with all the bugs, there is nothing but frustration. All GL wants is our money. The constant demands of "buy buy buy buy buy..." is getting to be a real turn off. I'm tired of paying real money on a game whose developers don't give a lick about the players enough to fix bugs ASAP rather than constantly pushing out more crap to buy. Even my husband told me to turn off DDLV and go play Palia. He says I have a smile on my face the whole time I'm playing. Scrapping my soapbox back to the corner.....
I have a love/hate relationship with the game. Yours were exactly my feelings yesterday when the Palia patch came out. I was so mad I felt like I had to get on DDV to do that button daily. I curse DDV weekly when I have to make myself do those Dreamsnaps and tear up an area AGAIN and then put it all back together. But I feel like I HAVE to do them as it's free money and all this game has going for it IMO is the pretty premium pixel items. Gameloft is a pretty deplorable company having a paid for game and deploying FTP monetization tactics.... having their cake and eating it too. It's hard to give up a game you've put so much time and money in though... and that is where I'm at with DDV. I actually detest the game... ie. garbage clean up, etc. Palia has my heart (as you can see from my avatar) and I dream of the day I can say goodbye to DDV and the FOMO tactics.
To be honest, those of us who play the game on Switch have dealt with major crashing issues consistently since Day One. I don't feel like there has been much concern about addressing that until the glitching and crashing began affecting many others as well. The meager compensation while constantly pumping out premium items feels pretty disrespectful, especially to people who are used to wasting 30 minutes a day restarting after crashes. I love the game, but it feels like being a relationship where you love somebody that doesn't respect you or treat you anywhere near as good as you deserve.
Get a steam deck and play there, like I did. The best thing I could do. I too played on switch and it was awful! Like so many other games on the switch. ‘Switched’ from Switch to steam deck and games like Dreamlight Valley Hogwarts Legacy even a game like GTA V plays so well on a handled like steam deck. It’s a worth the 400 plus bucks!
Per Gameloft they have one million players. On Steam there are 3K concurrent players on average. Which means the majority of their players are on console. When the majority of your players can’t play the game they will leave. That’s a huge problem with a live service game. Add on the heavy push for monetization for less quality items and they are going to kill this game. It’s already become incredibly monotonous for long term players. We can only fish, mine, cook, hourglass so much and every single quest requires you to do this over and over and over (Starpath, dailies, villager quests, ect). It was better when they had the premium items more accessible and kept the monetization to the bundles and expansions. With peace and love. ❤
Personally I think the starpath was pretty decent. That said, many of us did pay full price for the game and bought an expansion, so there is no need to go crazy with the premium shop. Some of those items could probably go into scrooges store occasionally.
Meh, I'll have to disagree with you there... 3 arm bands? Only 2 rides? Meanwhile, almost everything worth having went to the premium shop. Keep in mind, this doesn't impact me much considering I've got more than enough moonstones from dreamsnaps... but most of the players I speak too are not happy about the Star Path. It's the worst one yet. By far.
@@Probably_Senpai Compare it to old star paths though. Most of them don't have any rides. The fact that we got two rides, an animated object that moves(the camel), and a building(firehouse) is a major improvement over past star paths. Most of them don't have buildings, rides or moving objects. It is only the more recent star paths that they been adding them and this one has the most. The first starpath had the balloon basket, and that was the only major item in the entire thing. They had two outfits that were near identical except for one had knee high boots. They also didn't have characters outfits back then either. How is this one worse?
The worst “bug” in this game is the ridiculous cost (in real money) of items in the premium store. This is the MOST EXPENSIVE game we’ve ever played with no end in sight. Actually there IS an end in sight… when we stop paying and playing. It’s one of my favorite games, but the cost is turning me off very quickly.
SO many amazing shop items! I Love the house, it reminds me of Sea of Thieves! I just wish there would be more cheap items, anything below 1000 stones would be nice... seriously. Not everyone's getting so many stones from dreamsnaps 😔
Honestly between the cost of moonstones from premium items and what seems like the laziest star path (since they did it before) I stopped playing and went back to ACNH
I have tried to be patient with the game progress, but at some point you get tired of all the BS. I also play on switch. Switch players have paid the same amount of money that any other console player or pc and mac players have paid. People who play on switch are getting robbed in more than one way. First Switch players only have 3000 item limit to decorate 8 biomes, this is extremely unfair. I literally have to remove items just to complete a dreamsnap picture. Everyone says its a switch problem, well if its such a problem for switch players, then why offer the game to them knowing they will not be allowed to fully decorate their islands, EVER. In Snap voting and competing they have made compensations to all Playstation players and allowed them to have their own console voting. Why not offer something like that to switch players as well. Its hard to compete with people who have tons of decorating spaces to use compared to a player who only has half of what everyone else has. Second, The premium shop items are getting out of hand in pricing for what you get. Yes I understand you don't have to buy them but thats not the point. If you do the math, its roughly 15 dollars in real cash just to buy one house skin. That you can only have 1 of. Be different if once we bought the premium one you could purchase more from scrooge shop. The community rewards challenge this year is a joke. Seriously? The rewards just flat out suck. 5 pieces of each fruit a few sticks and a few iron ingot...Not to mention the rewards being items you can craft yourself at any crafting table. I was really hoping this game was going to keep my interest for years, but at this rate once switch has their new console in 2025 i'll be switching back to whatever the new animal crossing game will be.
Omg I speak on this ALL the time! While the item limit is, in fact, due to the limitations of the Switch, I've always believed Gameloft should acknowledge that and charge less for the Switch version of the game or simply make it FREE. It's absurd to me that the Steam/PC version of the game costs as much as the Switch version of the game. They should have either heavily discounted or given away the base game on Switch, OR simply not published it on Switch at all. It's just not fair for players to pay the same price and receive half of the full experience. Instability, reduced decor, extremely limited graphics and visuals... it's NOT even close to the same game on Switch... and like you said, it's robbing Switch players in more ways than one. As much as I enjoy DDLV, If Switch was my only option, I would not play.
@KA-ys5ps I love the Switch for Nintendo games/exclusives! Though, if you'd prefer to get a PC experience where you don't have to "sit behind a PC all day," I recommend looking into a Steam Deck! I almost always play from my Steam Deck when I'm not broadcasting! You get the portability of a Switch, the power of a PC, and they're only slightly more than the Switch. 😁
Thanks for another great video! Congratulations on your dreamsnap! I want to tell you how much I appreciate all your help with dreamsnaps. I am on a 17 week 4k moonstone streak!! I definitely don’t blame the devs for the amount of moonstones given out. I did feel like it was a slap in the face with how many were given because of all the frustration from the crashing and disappearing items make it not very enjoyable to play the game right now. As far as the premium shop goes, it is starting to feel like a free to play game where you spend lots of money getting premium items. I didn’t buy the game and the DLC to play that way. Definitely feels like a money grab
@@Josh-Man you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine. I have been playing computer games for over 25 years. Probably before you were even born. I have a lot of experience with different types of games. Believe me. I know when a company is doing a money grab which in the end will make people lose interest in something they have already paid for. If you had the years of experience you would know that.
I'm still having issues, completing the fest quests and after giving out all those cupcakes it's not registering this has been going on so much , it's a waste of my time. I give up.
As much as i love this game i can fully understand why everyome is getting mad. I do think the premium shop prices and having premium houses every single week is really draining us even for people that are buying the moonstones frequently. Even though ive had very fair freamsnaps (2.5-4k) weekly but they have soo many expensive items. A new house skin every single week is wild as much as i do like the houses its a bit much to do it weekly. They can do a house monthly so we have time to save or buy moonstones
I don't think they intend for people to buy every single premium shop item. Everyone needs to realize items will come back & you don't have to buy anything.
I work on my TH-cam and Twitch content full-time. It's my job. 😁 That said, if you watch my videos often, you've probably noticed I have a different approach from most DDLV creators. Most creators in this niche will upload a simple video of them speaking on a subject while their avatar stands around. That's not my approach. (Keep in mind I'm not knocking that approach... I'm just saying it's not my style.) I write scripts, edit in transitions, pan shots, and more. My videos are refined, and because of this, they take hours, days, and sometimes even weeks on end to produce. All that said, I was sick last week (in case you didn't see my posts), so there was only one video, and I've gotten backed up on a very important dreamsnap tutorial. I'm thrilled to hear you want more content. I just want to make sure you understand that videos of this quality take time, effort, and ALOT of hard work on my end. Cheers.
While I’m frustrated with the crashes and all, the devs that have been listening to players and working hard to make it better, I’m also happy that the fixes are on their way.
I looooove the new premium house. It’s great inspiration to decorate The Wild Tangle!! But it would for sure have been really cool to be able to place furniture on the porch. That was a missed opportunity.
They really need to change the fishing bait to blue circles instead of gold ones. But still keeping the miraculous fishing bait the same. And with the fishing bait to keep it to the same amount of times it can be used before it wears off. Especially during events there are fish / seafood (eg. Crab) that are in blue circles only and it would speed up certain duties.
I am glad Gameloft acknowledged the issues. The crashes are the worst I have ever encountered, border line unplayable. 500 moonstones doesn't really seem adequate but hopefully they do fix it quickly
One of my other pet peeves is the weekly quest are constantly being recycled. Having the most golden year thing having the Disney park theme collecting this, they’re all reruns. Don’t they have any creativity very seldom do you see anything to do with the jungle or the lion King, how many times do I have to do a new Park theme or how many days do I have to do? Let’s make it all gold.
The only glitch I have is the rides disappearing and 2 of the event quests not being accepted with Mickey and Scrooge, I haven't had the other glitches
The 500 moonstones is a joke. When they're putting so many new items and house skins at 3,750 for one house skin. I am not spending my moonstones on them anymore. It is too high
I have been dealing for months where my villagers are stuck home, the shop, and the restaurant from morning until evening they are in there until I go into my house and sometimes it gets them out and sometimes it doesn’t and I get frustrated and quit playing and I also deal with the other problems people are having,I can only play with a handful of villagers and the rest of the villagers are stuck the majority of the time.Gameloft was no help for me,they emailed me a list of what to do and nothing changed my problem with the game,it started with these updates awhile back and has gotten worse 😔
Dang I ranked 289 on this one! Possibly my highest rank, or close (don't think I've managed double digits ever). I've been going a bit lower effort lately for my sanity, but it was a good snap (could have been better but it started raining so I was out). That's a really nice surprise! Also, fwiw, I play on Switch
I've had items dissapearing, not being able to accept quest from Scrooge (for the event) which also means I can't even buy things from him directly anymore, and when I want to plant more than one crop (just pressing E (on PC), it doesn't work. I have to do each one individually and it takes forever! Not sure the crop thing is only happening to me.
I have been playing for well over a year and I don't think I've ever seen it this buggy. Maybe its because they keep pushing more events to keep us engaged? Whatever it is I'm getting more bugs than the ones you mentioned. - My lights will not turn on at night unless I go through a sunset. I like to play at night in the game so switching the time of day manually to night, some things just don't light up. All of my street lamps and pumpkins I have to activate twice before they will come on. The things that don't have activators, like the neon palms, glowing sea plants and the built in plaza lamps that look like iron street lamps stay off. - something is really wonky with the outside of Scrooges shop. The lower half has a weird glitch where it keeps changing colors depending on how you look at it. Both shops are like this, Eternity Isle, and the Valley. There are a few minor glitches, like Vanelope goes invisible but those two above are the ones that bug me the most. Anyone else getting them or just me? They both started with the start of the Parksfest.
I play on xbox, my game crashes so many times i have to do EVERY star path duty 2-4 times. I cant even hit save myself because trying to do so my game freezes and i cant scroll to save anyways.
My game is constantly crashing unless im in Eternity Isle Then its perfectly fine, but as soon as I go to the valley Within 5-10 minutes my game is crashing and going back to my Xbox Dashboard If its not fixed by the next update Then I will no longer play the game or purchase moonstones ever again This game has cost me hundreds of dollars to get everything that is in the Premium Shop/Star Paths This Event f'd up everything
Hey Senpai, what do you think of the theory that Disney IP houses like Lady Tremaine manor, Belle cottage, Confectionery etc being real Disney IP and Disney icons are the ones that are 3750 & the general house styles not associated with an IP are the ones that are 3000. I don't think it's features or functionality at all, it's just GL paying their dues to the IP. Just a thought!
My only issue is the constant crashing on Switch. DreamSnaps are impossible. I’m just taking the 600 and running because it crashes multiple times per hour. 😞
Grats on your rank, the house costing only 3k is something to do with it not being made after a Disney item all the non Disney house skins have all been 3k whereas Disney ones have all been 3750 :)
But that's not true. Dream Castle, Nightmare Castle, and the Winter Palace were all 3750 and they're not Disney IP. Meanwhile premium homes like "Mike and Sully's Apartment" ARE Disney IP and they've been listed at 3000. For the whole "Disney IP costs more" thing to be believable for me, it would need to apply accross the board, not just in some cases.
@ceanura8368 Content creators (myself included) are known for sharing their theories. Unfortunately, theories are often mistaken for fact. You know me, though, I'm a very fact based person. 😅 In order for me to accept something as truth, it needs to be the case across the board, and I like to look at all of the evidence beforehand. I think the "Disney IP" theory has the potential to be true in some cases... but unfortunately, it's not unanimous enough to apply to all premium home transactions. This means we'll never truly know when it's being applied vs. when Gameloft has some other justification for the higher charge (such as detail, size, or animation). Due to these inconsistencies, premium home values will always be open to interpretation as will their subjective costs. 😁
I also have a love/hate relationship with this game. It actually took me a many months to decide whether to buy this game or not. I was currently playing Palia at the time (Mar 2024). I play on the switch and currently I can't get into my house, so I have to go the long way round to enter! 🤦♀ I also think that it's unfair we can only use 3000 items when decorating. I have spent too much money on moonstones, you're not getting value and for the price of the game compared to Palia (which is free) I think is a complete ripe off. I do feel very frustrated about wanting to play it and at present with all the bugs/crashes and spending real money, my joy is crashing and bugging out just like the game! 😢😩
I really have stopped coming in there to play anything on DV except maybe to check Scrooges shop so it most I spend 10 minutes. It’s becoming so much of a work environment. It’s no longer fun. You don’t get any rewards. That are really awesome. I’m tired of the green, chess chess and the chess giving you minimal rewards. I play on PS five so I go to Palia or I go to Lego Fortnite and I spend most of my days on those games and get better rewards or free access.
they need to add a downvote button on the dreamsnap events. I dont even care if its me being a bad sport, im so sick of seeing photos that arent even on theme in voting ^^;
I’m so confused… why is everyone mad or complaining? Hopefully after watching this I’ll understand more lol. I’m living the life since day one of this game and am in love with this game!!💚🩷🩵♥️💜🥰😘

That's Tarzan's house! I love seeing it. You got to play around on it in Kingdom Hearts.
I can’t accept the quest from Scrooge and therefore cannot order items from him. Super frustrating when trying to decorate!!!!
I have the beach house and you can’t go on the walkway to the side which annoys me
Dang I ranked 289 on this one! Possibly my highest rank, or close (don't think I've managed double digits ever). I've been going a bit lower effort lately for my sanity, but it was a good snap (could have been better but it started raining so I was out). That's a really nice surprise!
Also, fwiw, I play on Switch
Congrats! That's huge, ESPECIALLY with a switch submission. GGs 🎉❤
@@HiKingMargo oh my gosh thank you!!!
That background music is so familiar!!! I can’t put my finger on it!!! Lol
Are you familiar with Cult of the Lamb? 😁😁
I haven't been able to play for more than 5 minutes since the last update. It crashes all the time. I won't finish the star path. I have no buttons 😢
I’m also on switch, if you’re in Facebook or Reddit groups, a lot of players will give you the buttons you need, you need only ask them
My game is constantly crashing unless im in Eternity Isle
Then its perfectly fine, but as soon as I go to the valley
Within 5-10 minutes my game is crashing and going back to my Xbox Dashboard
If its not fixed by the next update
Then I will no longer play the game or purchase moonstones ever again
This game has cost me hundreds of dollars to get everything that is in the Premium Shop/Star Paths
This Event f'd up everything
I was waiting for it to go free to play 💀
Am I the only one who didn't get compensation?? I've restarted my game and nothing :/
I didn't get any compensation either
Hey Senpai, what do you think of the theory that Disney IP houses like Lady Tremaine manor, Belle cottage, Confectionery etc being real Disney IP and Disney icons are the ones that are 3750 & the general house styles not associated with an IP are the ones that are 3000. I don't think it's features or functionality at all, it's just GL paying their dues to the IP. Just a thought!
I don't think that's the case. There have been several premium houses that were not Disney IP that cost 3750.
My only issue is the constant crashing on Switch. DreamSnaps are impossible. I’m just taking the 600 and running because it crashes multiple times per hour. 😞
The music during the dream snap review is the familiar one I can’t place
its cult of the lamb music during the dreamsnap submission
Grats on your rank, the house costing only 3k is something to do with it not being made after a Disney item all the non Disney house skins have all been 3k whereas Disney ones have all been 3750 :)
But that's not true. Dream Castle, Nightmare Castle, and the Winter Palace were all 3750 and they're not Disney IP.
Meanwhile premium homes like "Mike and Sully's Apartment" ARE Disney IP and they've been listed at 3000.
For the whole "Disney IP costs more" thing to be believable for me, it would need to apply accross the board, not just in some cases.
Yeah did not think of them was just going from what some other content creators have been saying :)
@ceanura8368 Content creators (myself included) are known for sharing their theories. Unfortunately, theories are often mistaken for fact. You know me, though, I'm a very fact based person. 😅
In order for me to accept something as truth, it needs to be the case across the board, and I like to look at all of the evidence beforehand.
Hi Senpai. Congrats.
Premium items are too expensive. They need to lower the costs since the game is not Free-2-Play.
I haven’t experienced any glitches but that’s because I haven’t been back in the game for awhile.
Good lord, Goofy's really letting it all hang out in that jumpsuit. This is a kid's game, Gameloft.
Lmao
they need to add a downvote button on the dreamsnap events. I dont even care if its me being a bad sport, im so sick of seeing photos that arent even on theme in voting ^^;
I’m so confused… why is everyone mad or complaining? Hopefully after watching this I’ll understand more lol.
I’m living the life since day one of this game and am in love with this game!!💚🩷🩵♥️💜🥰😘
