Square doesn't get a 30% cut off every purchase on the ps store but Sony does. Sony loses 30% selling games on steam. soooooo I'm not a genius but I think there is a reason why they are hesitant to put their games day and date on pc.
@@anthonyblanton7074even though losing 30% of each sale they're still receiving millions of sales they wouldn't have gotten at all by going to steam and they would make more sales by not making the PC players wait 1-2 years for games that are generally finished in a weekend or so
@@jamesthomas2410 are you suggesting they would make more money day and date on their 2 first party games every year than the 30% cut of all 3rd party sales on the ps store? Not sure on how people don't understand this. They will lose people to pc if they put their games day and date on pc. I think I’ve figured this out. If Sony was producing up to million dollar games, then all the bosses get a percentage of that million dollars. Instead Sony are producing games costing hundreds of million dollars, and the bosses get the same percentage of this hundreds of millions.
Of course we can see this isn’t sustainable, but I can see executives not willing to tighten their belts across the whole company.
Xbox learned relatively fast the whole Blumhouse method (pump out cheaper budget fringe products, if one hits the mark the profits are through the roof)

PlayStation is getting closer and closer to day and date on PC
100% and all those people who were like “there’s no point in buying an Xbox because all the games on pc. Xbox is incompetent”, they will of course be silent when this happens
No hate but I’m not sure how Xbox are on a hot streak when they only put out Hellblade 2 as a full new first party game which came and went like a fart in the wind, then nothing until Shattered Space which reviewed in the 60’s, and only now have COD and Vessel of Hatred. Outside of that their games are delayed AGAIN to next year, and Indiana seems to have mixed opinions post previews. Hardware continues to plummet YoY. If this is a hot streak, I’d hate to see what a downturn looks like
You’re forgetting ages of mythology and flight sim 2024, but I guess when you’re trying to find negatives it’s easy to “forget” about the rest of the stuff they put out. In all honestly all Sony has put other this year is mlb, concord and Astro.
@ Flight Sim isn’t out yet, neither is Indiana Jones. Age of Mythology sure, but that’s not catering to the console audience. I’m not trying to score points or say anything is better than anything else. I’m just saying I strongly disagree that Xbox is on a “winning streak”
@@Spam591_ yet flight sim is this month so yes it’s on winning streak, why isn’t age of mythology catering to the console crowd? It’s on console, I’ve beaten the campaign and so have my friends, we even skirmish eachother a few times a week.

AoE doesn’t appeal to the *majority* of console players, and is traditionally a PC-first title. Flight Sim isn’t out, so not sure how you can count that as a success or part of a hot streak when we have no idea if the game will underdeliver or run poorly. It will almost guaranteed be great, but we still have to wait for it to come out. You seem to be *wanting* to pick a fight though, so I’m going to leave this here. Hope you have a good day, even if we clearly disagree
@@Spam591_ flight sim got a great score when it released, now it’s coming out with new modes and huge additions I don’t know how it could fail. Sony are ALREADY pivoting away from their live service obsession, and backing off to take a more objective assessment of their options.
*Pausing
True. What are their options though? Live Service is a gamble. You might get fortnite, you might get Concord. Their big AAA action games are seeing reduced margins. So they're not the answer. Live Service was supposed to support them. What are the other options? Lots of AA games? People loved Astrobot but how much was that due to the novelty? If they do a AA platformer every year do people grow bored quickly? I'm not sure what they do to keep growing and not stagnating.
Sony has no innovation, they are stuck in the past. Nintendo killed it with Switch, Xbox has Gamepass and once the handheld hits you will start seeing a complete sinking with Sony and PS5 pro.
