I knew House was popular, but wow - I had no clue Hugh had so many fans! Thanks for stopping by to check out the video guys. Don't miss the rest of the set - tons of stars from different shows turned out.
Dr. House covering Dr. John equals awesomeness. I love this song, even though it's pretty obscure. Also, to the guy who shot this, excellent job. Great sound and as good video as you are gonna get from the audience.
its hard not to be in love with HL..sigh! Such an irony, he probably would declare himself first and last a Brit but really he is opening up in the States in a way he probably wouldn't have in the UK - in the US he has the freedom of being who he really is, not stereotyped in those roles he used to play in the UK. And that applies to his music too - doesn't hurt that he is a blues fan, and is in the home of the Blues. Can't wait for the BBC doco about the blues he is narrating.
Just read the story about Laurie's recording contract and was extremely pleased to find this video to save to my favorites; thank you!! Hope he includes this song on his album :)
@ThatRomyKate Don't forget he's also a great singer and a fabulous actor! Also, he can make a trumpet sound with his lips (on key!). I'm fairly certain he's even more talented than he's shown so far.
Hugh Laurie is great! He's really good actor and amazing musician. How many instruments does he play, anybody knows? And he has quite good voice. God, I wish I was like him.
Well piano and guitar for sure I remember him playing them all the time in A bit of Fry and Laurie. Apparently Harmonica, drums and Sax too, essentially if your clever enough which he is you can turn your hand to most things
He played on more, to tell you the truth I don't remember which ones, but this is the only one he sang on. If you watch the other videos, you should be able to see him jamming away.
Yes, I was there, and yes I recorded this. I didn't get a chance to meet any of them - Lord knows, I tried. None of the band members came out to meet anyone afterward because it was a Netflix event and they were showing movies on a big projection screen. Closest I got was to Greg Grunberg, he came down to the left side of the barriers next to the stage to meet his family, and I was standing about 3 feet from him and his sons.
Well, I know that except of talent it is huge work to do to become good musician and actor. In fact I'm kind of musician too. Not talented and not hard-working on really low level but musician. I'm aware of how much it is to become such a great artist like Hugh Laurie is. Ps: Best wishes to Your daughter bearmoog;)
You're my hero for the day, warplayer! Thanks a million! Totally envy you for the experience. Was Hugh only onstage for this song or did he play more songs? If so, which ones? Do you remember?
I like his voice, but there's an odd accent to it. it works in his comedy sketches but when he's not trying to be funny he should drop that American accent!
he looks and sounds like he's just having way too much fun.

I love hugh exellent song
Apparently he can play the piano, guitar, drums, harmonica and saxophone. He's so talented!
I love this band!

@krejt That's impressive about the trumpet sound! I've seen Keller Williams do the same and I was very impressed with him.

Yep, it's called Hoggin' All the Covers. It's available on Amazon. Unfortunately, this song isn't on it.
what can Hugh Laurie not do!
Aw, thanks a lot.... I do it all for the people :)
He played on more, to tell you the truth I don't remember which ones, but this is the only one he sang on. If you watch the other videos, you should be able to see him jamming away.
lol, he so talented that his american accent is convincing.

Wow.. I bet when I heard this song in the show, I thought it was someone-not-Hugh-Laurie because of his singing tone for this song.
you can't usually tell someones accent by their singing voice
he aint in fact, but yes i am sure he enjoys it too ^^
that's science fiction
hygh laurei can sing.....
is there anything this man can't do?
anyway really great
it's called being British =P but in this he's putting on a totaly differant accent!
If he was female, I'd hate HL for having so much talent
But as he is male... I'll just sit here and swoon thanks!
Yeah, it was all blocked off, pretty tight security.
Hugh Laurie is British
he sounds like the singer fome toy story lol
Don't get me wrong--I love Hugh Laurie, but he's no Dr. John...
I like his voice, but there's an odd accent to it. it works in his comedy sketches but when he's not trying to be funny he should drop that American accent!
hugh laurie's singing voice sounds like House... hmm...
What the hell:)
