- Hey Every body! B-rad here. Today I installed this Ruegg 3pt Hitch onto my John Deere 318. Its a long video but covers pretty much everything unlike some other install videos. Install went pretty good, minus a few flubs. Overall I really like it so far. Waiting on my first implement to arrive. When it does I will upload a video of it in action. Thanks for watching.

I just ordered a Ruegg Cat 1 for my 420. This was a nice video.
Great job with the install, thanks for braving the cold to give us a great how to video.
Thanks
Great video. Nice details and video coverage. Thank you for doing the video, especially in the cold weather
Glad you enjoyed it!
Best video yet on how to install this three-point hitch thanks a bunch!
You're welcome!
Very thorough young man, great job on this video, and a clean mouth also, not many young people like you anymore, God Bless You
Good Job Thanks For Making a Video on this going to save me alot of time on my installment .
This 3 pt is handy, I use it all the time now.
Thanks for posting this, getting ready to put a 3 point on my 400. Different but same isea.
Hi B-Rad did you put on a cat 0 or cat 1. Apologies if you mentioned it in video. Thank you.
Cat 0. You can get a cat 1 aswell, but some of the attachments are pretty big for the 318.
@@BRadWilson3 First thanks for posting this - I just put one on my recently purchased 316, and this really helped. I did buy a cat 1 because I wanted it to be able to share attachments with my slightly larger tractor. Acknowledge that many of the cat 1 attachments will be too big for the 316, but I figure I can also use cat 0 with this one (I have a few of those). The cat 1 was on sale, $75 less than the cat 0 - maybe because not enough people wanted the cat 1?
where u order the 3 point hitch from what type of back blade does it used
You can order a Ruegg hitch on eBay or look him up online. You can call and order one. I don't have a rear blade, you could make one or probably order one.
Nice install video. The strap…. I could not see any benefit for that strap being installed. It has slotted holes both ends. I was thinking it might be a “short” top link if the turn buckle is too long? anybody else have an idea? I put one of these on my 332. Had to pound the pin thru the turn buckle, was not installed.
Ok. Did some additional digging and the strap is a limit strap to keep the 3 pt from raising too high when towing a trailer. Keeps your seat pan from being damaged and keeps your tractor from rolling over if the trailer raises the tongue and hitch up when going down a hill or stopping quickly with a heavy load.
Great video, just installed mine tonight.
Mind has been very handy so far. I have a newer video of a carry all I made for it. It works to move appliance's that I scrap.
Looking to do this to my new to me 318. Looks like a pretty straight forward install. I assume just the kit is needed and no valve changes or anything etc? Will this still work if I have a mower deck installed? This is new to me! Thanks!
Correct everything included. Yes your mower deck with still go up an do with the 3pt.
Thanks for the great video! Was that a cat 0 or cat 1 Ruegg hitch?
Cat 0
Thanks for the great video and The Link to Ruegg. They look to be the resource I've been needing for my 445 to add this.
One Question ... Is the Mower Deck Lift still functional after installing this hitch? Do they work in tandem from the single hydraulic cylinder ... One moves and the other moves also?
Thanks for your time and clarification.
Yes mower lift is still functional. If you had the deck on, it would raise and lower with the 3pt. Thanks for watching
Exquisite. Thank you. I'll be getting myself a 3pt.
This is a useful video. Thanks for posting.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching
Very helpful Thanks for sharing!!
Did you go cat 1 or cat 0
Cat 0
Nice Snap-On tools
