Isn't it better this way though for us American fans? I can stand stageside in a small venue and see Delain at House of Blues Orlando, Kamelot in the State Theatre St. Pete Florida, Epica at House of Blues Orlando, Nightwish at Jannus Landing St. Pete, Tarja at Irving Plaza NY, etc., sort of like our own little secret club. I've been listening to metal ever since 1970, with the exception of Amy Lee of Evanescence nothing new has come from the U.S. in many decades. Met Charlotte after the Orlando show, she's absolutely delightful and seems honestly grateful for Delain's fans, this group deserves stardom!

I'm digging Charlotte Wessels. Trained singing Classical and Jazz, she ends up in a metal band. Also, as much as I love the goth look on metal female singers (think Cristina Scabbia / Lacuna Coil or Amy Lee / Evanescence), she rocks her own vibe. Nice change of pace to see a woman dressing semi casual while fronting a metal band.
Doubt that. Classical training involves college / university time and formal music theory education ( usually at least two years ). There are plenty of talented female singers with ranges of those equipped to take on classical music that lack formal training however. I imagine Epica's singer is likely classically trained but I doubt Maria Brink is for example (as great as she is).
Andrew Russo actually simone is not classicly trainned. She joined the band at a very young age. She even admitted in a interview she is not trainned besides having a couche. She doesn't always work with on her voice but does it when she thinks it's needed. :)
ive followed this band because of martijn's sickeness and his drive to carry on after within temptation. love charlotte and I cant waite until shes the most well known singer in symphonic metal.
Do you know how hard it is to find fans that have been around sense there early days. I have a hard time find fans who have been around sense Lucidity and before. In fact most fans I seem to not know that the first person to play drums on a full Delain album was Ariën van Weesenbeek. Most think it was always Sander Zoer. Or they go way back to Tim Kuper. No Arien Van Weesenbeek was the drummer on Lucidity.
I think they already do. I was jealous of the Epica 2012 North America tour. Epica & Alestorm together would have been epic. Although When I saw them with Stream of Passion it was awesome also.
We are trying. Delain is on a tour through North America right now and it's unfortunate (not for me) that they only play small clubs. We don't have the same festivals Europe does. Almost makes me want to move.
Jonathan Gorys saw them the week before in montreal at a small metal bar. There were only about 20 people in the audience, I was right infront of the stage at her feet. They still gave their best.

Floor Jansen is quite good, though. And it's quite nice to see that Tarja's doing well in her own band. Meanwhile I continue to discover yet more awesome bands; either through TH-cam, or from my friends- which is how I happened upon Delain. Surprising how many Dutch, Norwegian, Finnish, German and Polish bands there are in this area of music. And they're all awesome. Don't forget some Swedish bands too.

Love the song, and this video really showcases how fun and likeable Delain is. It's extra special that Charlotte assembled the video herself. Can't wait for the album.
This album kicks ass!! Beginning to end, and that's pretty rare usually there are at least a few duds on even some of the greatest albums. All their albums are solid! They have to tour or at least do a few shows in the US on this album cycle!!
Absolutely love this band. Their drums are the hook for me, they're very snappy and punchy, not buttery. So when Charlotte sings, shes going into battle with a 50 cal. If they lose this quality, I don't think they'll be on my workout playlist as much as they are.

The songs Diamonds and When It All Comes Down and Neon Lights and Only Girl In The World and Euphoria and Alpha & Omega by Swarm and Young Gods and 34 + 35 (and all other similar lyrics that include words like down under and sweet and fruit/food/flower terms and big terms and cake etc) and many of the recent mainstream pop songs that include numbers and big terms and compIiments and food/fruit related terms etc are based on my story with my protectors, and the songs The Dark Element and Endless Forms Most Beautiful and Shoemaker and Endlessness and Digital Deceit etc include references to me, and the songs Yours Is An Empty Hope and Weak Fantasy and Tribal by NW and Kingdom Come and Paradise Of The Architect are about me and Chip and the new system, as are the songs Parasite by Anette and The Signal 🔥 and World Ablaze by KsE...
The songs Pan and Tribal are about me and the new system and the new Nightwish lyric video for the song Pan also includes subtle symbolism about me, where they used Chess symbolism to show my importance (where the Queen element representing me destroys the pawns) and they also made references to me (The Sea Lady) and to the Total Planetary Reset ('Reset the world') which is to happen after the system is replaced, which means the entire planet is to be restructured/reset based on my projects!

This album kicks ass!! Beginning to end, and that's pretty rare usually there are at least a few duds on even some of the greatest albums. All their albums are solid! They have to tour or at least do a few shows in the US on this album cycle!!

Absolutely love this band. Their drums are the hook for me, they're very snappy and punchy, not buttery. So when Charlotte sings, shes going into battle with a 50 cal. If they lose this quality, I don't think they'll be on my workout playlist as much as they are.
