While I agree she was aesthetically beautiful I was a waitress at the thalian ball and at the breakfast the following day for 4 years in a row. Out of all the people I waited on or had to deal with ( I also worked on several tv shows including chat ( talk) shows) I found Ruta Lee to be one of the most rude and aloof celebrities I've ever " had" to deal with. I find Jamie Lee Curtis to be the rudest who seems to take pleasure in speaking to us " little people who don't matter" in a condescending manner. I also waited and dealt with Debbie Reynolds. Liked Carrie but not Debbie. Strangely my Danish immigrants fathers first job in California in 1952 was at the hotel Roosevelt. Debbie Reynolds used to take dancing lessons there and would stay and chat with my father. He told me she and Lana Turner couldn't have been more polite and kind. In the late 90s I found Debbie Reynolds rude. About the time when Debbie Reynolds bought the Debbie Reynolds casino/ museum where she intended to house all her costumes from the films throughout Hollywood history in Las Vegas my father attended their show. After Ruta Lee and Debbie Reynolds and the gay comedian Rip Taylor (?). stayed after the show to sign autographs and take photos. My father only knew who Debbie was. The show was during the day ( the older Lawrence welk crowd is asleep at night) In his photos the ballroom/ stage is completely empty except for my parents and visiting relatives from Europe. I asked my father where was the other audience members. He told me there weren't any. The casino/ Debbie Reynolds theater closed immediately after.
God gave the opportunity to the right woman in Ruta Lee.
