- Check out our mobile auto detailing water tank setup! Mobile auto detailers have endless options when it comes to water tank set ups, gravity fed, jet pumps, draw pumps. All options are a good options when done properly. We chose to use a jet pump for our mobile detailing van to feed water into our pressure washer. This is a setup we have been using for just over a year and we have always been happy with it. For this upcoming summer we chose to switch it up with a fresh configuration and take you along for the ride. I hope this helps anyone looking to set up their mobile auto detailing water tank setup in the future!

Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall.The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.
Please! Always make sure to have a fire extinguisher in your setup when you're working with a generator.

Hated when I used to go to customers houses using the gravity fed system with experience you’ll learn that if you shorten your hose and keep your tank pretty filled to the top you won’t have those issues ever but I know I’ll do it this way since it doesn’t really matter how much water you have in the tank I tend to do 2 to 3 cars a day is more than enough water for me always trying to use as little water as possible awesome video.

Looks good so far, if you mount the cannons and lance on the door it would be much easier access to something you would use each time you use the van, putting them further back would be a pain to climb in to reach them all the time 👍 looking forward to seeing how it develops 👍👍

Helpful video. Where you get the connection for the outlet on the sunjoe pressures washer where the hose connects to go to the hose reel? I have a ar blue clean and to my understanding electric pressure washers outlets are not the same m22 connect as the gas pressure washer. Any suggestions or links would be helpful. Thanx again
can you explain in detail about the pump I’m very interested to know how the pump works also does the water have to be filtered and where do you get the water from if so is 150 foot reel overkill? could you use 100?

do you have the generator running during an entire mobile detailing session? or do you turn it off when not needed and then turn it back on? do you have a secondary spout to fill buckets and stuff or do you just do that with the pressure washer hose?

Really like Your setup, its fun to see the van project coming along, step by step.. !! That tank full of water will be like 1/2 ton !! Loll!! like your generator also, Champion are a good bang for the buck and have good customer service !! :-)
Thank goodness for 8 lug solid axles haha. Definitely! We have been using the Champion for just over a year with not a single problem. It's also decently quiet, never any early morning complaints.
How much did the wooden platform you made to secure your tank down cost?
I was watching your SunJoe review and saw that you took out the jet pump from this set up. What was your reasoning and has there been any draw backs. I have all the same equipment to mount to a trailer and am wondering if I should just go with gravity fed as well. I figured with the jet pump you could have a lower pressure water source to use while not using the pressure washer if needed.

Good video. I was just considering purchasing a jet pump from HD. I currently have a Wayne battery operated pump. Strong pump but it runs through batteries like no tomorrow. I bought a 120V AC power pump from Harbor Freight and it burned out after about a month. What brand is your jet pump? I was considering one made by Wayne.
nice setup! my only concern is with that tank. I didn't really see anything preventing forward motion which would pretty much be lights out in an accident. Welding a steel bar might be the best thing.

I’m not so sure about the safety regarding that water tank installation. The tank might stick to the platform you built but I’m guessing the platform will come loose from the vans floor in a crash. The screws used will snap clean off on impact.

I couldn’t buy the 4000 watts Generator I bought one that was stronger that’s the only one they had in stock I believe it was like 6000 and change my question is can I still use a 1/3 HP jet pump or what do you recommend?
The 1/3HP is relative to flow not how big your generator is
Hey Man...was checking out this older video you made and was wondering if you suggest a jet pump for the Kranzle pressure washer or if the Kranzle’s are equipped to avoid the priming issue you mentioned. Thx Chromatic!
I would suggest one with all pressure washers. There isn't much point spending a rack on a pressure washer and then ask it to do something it wasn't intended for.

Hey Michael! Its from a very small local company that doesn't ship. We actually ditched it and now just use the pump built into the pressure washer. Thanks for watching!
Chromatic Auto Detailing I’m just starting to get my set up on a ford explorer and I was looking to buy a generator and I saw pretty much everywhere they advise to not run generator indoors even if you have doors and windows open, they say at least 15-20 ft away from your vehicle or hose, because the carbon monoxide can harm or kill you. do you run yours on the van? also they suggest you to leave it Outdoors along time after used.

quick question! how do you get water from your tank without starting the pressure washer? to fill bottles or buckets etc?
We fill them at the shop currently! Not the best option. Will be putting a split right before the valve over the winter. It should work perfect, but im planning on making an update video!

Entretain morclean unfortunately not! It’s made by a small local company. There is a company called Northstar that makes great pumps that a lot of detailers use. Look them up on TH-cam!
