This is really nice! CH A is a beautiful program and year! I'd be curious to hear your thoughts ow that you have been through the year.... My thoughts would be that I love everything you have here, but I would simplify. Get the smaller binder.... Pull the spiral bound notebooks out and keep them separate. While it feels efficient and lovely to have it all in one spot, the binder gets hefty and clunky day after day. You are right about needing another space for Latin work (the black notebook). Only take the current week's work in the class binder. Have a portfolio (binder) at home to add to from week to week with all of the Exposition work. Once you move on from that first novel/essay, no need to carry it back and forth every week. And the Guide, ask your Director to get the spiral bound version for you and keep it out of the binder. You will access it SO much. It's just more efficient to have it as it's own book. Thank you for the video. After taking a break from Ch A for a couple years, I am excited to jump back in with my daughter. Your video reminded me of some great resources and you gave me some new ideas as well. :)
YES to everything you have said! This year was the first year I was told about the spiral bound guide option and knew right away that’s what I wanted!! It’ll be the way to go for sure! My son wanted a different option and didn’t want to carry around a big binder to class. We found early on that removing a lot of the things I had in the binder made it better.
Did you ever do a follow-up video? I'm curious if you made any changes, have any additional suggestions, or what you would do differently after going through CHA. And which of the Debate resources worked best?
No, I never did. I ended up removing the spiral notebooks from the binder. It was too bulky and my son didn’t like it. Also, adding pages throughout the year was difficult too. Having everything there to begin with would have been nice.
I also ended up using my own resource. I just typed up a document that worked with my child’s brain. That’s the great thing about homeschooling…we can create things that best work for our children!
Hi! This was a helpful video. This coming year is our first ch A year. I was wonderinf if you had any "lessons learned" about how organizing this way worked? Thanks!!
Hi there! I usually don’t take this long to respond so I apologize. I’ve taken on the F/E director role and have been so busy! I feel like having it organized this way works but I wouldn’t split the guide up and only have some of it in the binder at a time. I’d put the whole thing in there.

What Facebook group are you apart of? I would like to input those in my son's binder.
It is called CC Challenge A Families
Where would I find the pictures for each book under the exposition tab?
I found those in the Classical Conversations Challenge A Facebook group…
How did you get the nature sketch journal 3 hole punched?
Hi! I took it to Office Depot.
