  • It's time for our first cab ride video from Burgas! We're taking the morning train 3622 to Sofia on a summer Saturday morning and 👇👇👇
    joining its cab view to the city of Straldzha in Southeastern Bulgaria. The sun is shining our way, there are only few clouds in the skies: the conditions are perfect! So...it's time to leave the Black Sea and head to Stara Planina mountain.
    On board the 5100 kW Co-Co electric 46 219, that was originally produced by Electroputere Craiova and modernized by KONČAR, you will once again hear the sound of the 6 engines, accelerating on the line with a maximum speed of 130 km/h.

    Страхотно видео от Бургас-Стралджа знам че влака е за София забелязах малко преди Владимир Павлов изолирана ЕМВ32 такива се движат за сега в Горна Оряховица мисля че и в София имаше такива ЕМВ32 и ЕМВ33 но тези ЕМВ33 мисля че не се движат вече виждам повече Desiro Siemens и ЕМВ Siemens

      Благодаря! За съжаление 32-рата край депото е в изолация от много години и шансът да я видим в движение отново клони към нула. ЕМВ 33 в София няма вече, доколкото знам последните такива (такава?) се намира в излация в Брусарци. Преди година бе транспортирана до депо ГО, за да свалят от нея и последните годни части и върната обратно там. 32-ри в движение има, но вече се броят на пръсти. Техническото състояние на по-новите ЕМВ от Siemens е крайно незадоволително и вече всичките са навъртяли километри (1,000000) за капитален ремонт...но поддръжката в БДЖ е таква каквато е: несъществуваща.

    Where is every body? I have watched several videos of trains in Bulgaria, and each time I hardly see a living soul. The whole country seems derelict and deserted.

      There are two main reasons for what you are very well observing:
      1. Railway transport is not promoted in any way, as opposed to road transport in Bulgaria. There is no political will whatsoever to deal with the ageing problems of the state railways and the continuous lack of a coherent improvement policy, combined with the malicious corruption practices has given its results: most people have given up on railroad transport - it is not effective, trains break down, it is dirty and most of the times late.
      2. The country itself is suffering from a vast internal migration from smaller cities / villages to bigger ones, with polluted and overcrowded Sofia, being the top place of choice. Very few people live in villages now. Also, our failure to preserve the industry we had from socialist times, has resulted in less needs for freight transportation with the factories itself now converted in rusty skeletons of what they used to be.
      This is the state of modern railways in Bulgaria. Of course,most of the few profitable trains are being managed by freight operators, who mainly concentrate on international traffic towards and from Turkey.
      However, if you would like to see a more populated line through a train cab ride video, I strongly suggest checking out the one through the Iskar river Gorge, which close to Sofia and is one of the few remaining legs where railway transport is actually the preferred way of travel by commuters.
