Here's the blotter update...
Contrary to expectation, I think I'm more impressed with Gardens: in admirably unostentatious fashion, it keeps to its white floral concept before finally easing itself onto a musky, sandalwoody drydown. Saffron Wood is a slightly more problematic beast: its synthetic aspects - mainly the musks in the base - become increasingly prominent towards the drydown stage, lending the whole a slight shrillness that isn't present at the beginning (an effect less marked on paper, I should add). It reminds me of a Montale I can't quite place at the moment. And like many Arabian-esque creations from that brand, it lasts and lasts and lasts for an age! Oh, and in case you're wondering, Madame P reacted to it exactly as I said she would.

Sampling Saffron Wood now, really liking it. Not too loud, and the saffron is beautiful. Really a nice rose oud type fragrance on my skin.
All of the samples I've tried from PMdP have been very well executed. Just can't choose which ones to buy :)

@@Persolaise I'm using Papyrus Oud for the 2nd time today. I didn't get it the first time, but now, I'm getting the most beautiful frankincense, might just be the top of the heap from them. But tbh all of my samples have been really good. I suspect I wind up with a few in my collection.

I hate to do this but you still owe us a comparison video between Gucci Pour Homme and Papyrus Oud 71, hope we'll get it in the near future.
