It's mindboggling how very many people could gain peace and a spiritual home in Quakerism. I am so glad for these videos. For me, I try hard to reveal my values by example, figuring no one likes a religious zealot. However, I wish the word could get out more to help more people and these videos are invaluable in that regard.
Thank you so much for this video. I am currently in an evangelical church. I have been investigating Quakerism as I feel drawn to a quieter form of worship and a simpler and more peaceful way of life.
Thanks for this. It is a concise (some might say...simple!) explanation of this aspect of the faith. As someone new to Quakerism, your videos are always helpful in explaining core concepts and deepening my understanding of them. Slow, simple living seems the only antidote to the overwhelming nature of modernity. Cheers!
@@Quake-It-Up can you do like a series on procedural stuff from attending a meeting for the first time, sitting there for 1 hour what to do what to expect like what if someone has Tourette syndrome etc. then to formalizing membership then what all this monthly and yearly stuff is all about. so maybe do it step by step like okay this is what to do or what to expect on your 1st meeting, then your 2nd, then 3rd, then so on... then after maybe do a series on quaker like still actually active quaker schools and what thats like, eg. theres George Fox Univ. in Portland Oregon. has any quaker ever visited various quaker meetings like across america or internationally and documented similarities and differences. i was interested in Jainism but my closest Jain group is in Las Vegas but theyre like attached to a Sikh community like piggy backing. so what's Quaker views on suicide specifically? jain's have a whole ceremony on ritualized suicide. this is the only organized religion i know that has something on suicide. so i guess my litmus test on religions is what their stance is on suicide, like Albert Camus was right i think. any philosophy or religion has to tackle suicide first then work backwards from there. thanks. loving your videos. just stumbled on it.
