Thank you!! It was a busy and a warm day, but still made for a great visit. This one kind of officially kicks off our ren-fair season, so maybe we'll cross paths at another? We usually make it to KC and often try STL; Dragon's Brook is very close to us and it's been a while since we've made it out to White Hart. It's just nice having a few within a day trip distance at least.
Awesome video! Renaissance fairs look like they're so much fun. And for someone like me who loves castles and dragons, I would love to go to one. The only downside is they always have them during the summer when its damn near 100 degrees here but still looks like fun
Oh man, we feel that heat issue so, so much! Anytime we've been lucky enough to be at one when it's cool or chilly out, we've been so gracious. This one in Muskogee, we have a very direct route through the faire that ends at the castle because it has AC. lol Still, don't shy away--they're a lot of fun and even popping in for an hour or so before it warms up can make for a great time.
Ha ha--those ladies were fantastic; the castmembers have so much fun. At another faire, a maiden displayed swords as rested against her and welcome buyers to check out her rack. Marketing! lol
My wife and I will be attending the 2024 renaissance fair next month for our first time!! I'll be the tallest viking there, I hope to see yall!! Let me know when yall go and I'll try to be there on that date so we can be in the 2024 video!!!
Ha ha--that would be awesome! AND, can't wait to know what you think of the first visit--we cannot wait. Oh man, they have these Transylvania "cakes" these sweet rolled bread treats...my stomach is already growling!
They run a pretty great setup; some nice permanent buildings, great shows and cast members, and a solid layout. Do you ever visit the KC faire? We'll be hitting one up again as we try to visit at least once a year.
@@DoYouNerd Oh yeah I've been to KCs many times. In fact when I was in highschool our choir used to perform there as a fundraiser. We would do a large group choir and then break up into small groups and sing songs around the fair. Charming Amy and I are thinking about going this year it's been about seven years since my last visit. Fun facts in the early 90s my highschool British Literature teacher played the queen and my uncle plays bagpipes at the fest. He might return this year but his health hasn't been the best.
@@TheFilmGeek Dude, that's awesome--these are the kinds of stories we love hearing about renfairs and the personal history people have with them! Definitely hope we can run into you two there!
Someone else has told us of the Minnesota one; maybe we need to take a week-long getaway someday. And you do--the family would love it! We actually went with Laci's family this time; her dad, brother and his fiance, plus some kiddos and they adored it (and the food too ha ha)
WHAAAAAT y'all was in Oklahoma and didn't tell me?! 😭❤️ That's my state. Would have been cool to hang out. I remember the first time I went when I was 12 years old had a giant ass turkey leg saw some jousting and held to big ass hawk in my hand then got pizza after I was so sunburnt but it was amazing
Ha ha ha--you know what I love about that recollection? It sounds like a PERFECT ren-fair visit and that is awesome! We usually hit up the Castle Muskogee faire every year as it kicks off the ren-fest season for us. We also usually make it to the KC one for sure, as well as a local one to us called Dragon's Brook (it's just gotten started in the past few years).
@@DoYouNerd Well we should try to meet up if the opportunity presents itself next time you go to the castle. It's been quite a long time since I went. Might see if I can get the other Lacey to join us.
It was packed, warm, but still a great time. Soooo many dragons; lucky you, it seems like Lady Laci picked a new dragon friend in an instant....45 minutes later though. ha ha ha
If I recall, it was easily mid, probably upper 80s. Fortunately they've got some nice, shaded areas that help. Also, upon entering, we always veer left and circle around the grounds to end up at the castle where it's got AC so we can cool off at the end of our day.
These fairs always look so fun. Is there a fair locator out there? We get a touch of it at Gencon but then you will see a transformer walking around too.
Transformers were a integral part to medieval culture; both Optimus and Rodimus Prime were sainted post-humously. lol We've seen tables and fliers for ren-faires at local conventions, but also just through word of mouth at a faire; get into one, ask around, and that set us on a path that we've still not fully explored. Think you guys would dress up? I bet the full family would have a blast going in costume!
Let's think about this--would they REALLY notice if we set up a tent and stayed overnight at least? We'd all blend in well enough, right? ha ha We have not; looks like it's about a 4 1/2 hour drive one way for us so we'd need to turn it into a weekend over a day trip, but we'll have to look into this more to see what we're missing. Thank you for the heads up!
@@DoYouNerd 😂 For sure! I just found out about that Norman show, so it'll be my first time there. You guys are the best. I've got your previous OKRF vids playing while I work on my fit for this year!
“I dont do riddles”😅 Why do I feel like That necromancer is going through some stuff “Aye it is I, the necromancer, I have raised you from the dead to follow me, we are going to go attack my ex wife Judy and her new boyfriend brad, we must make haste!”
HA!!! He did seem a bit sleepy, but you may be right, and maybe Brad's time has come!! "You there! Slay this fiend so that I may raise him for you to slay again, and again, AND AGAAAAIN!" lol
Idk I saw a lot of historical inacurricies. Are you sure this was a ren fest? lol I can't wait until the Michigan ren fest! It's so fun. I need to check out some others too.
When it comes to ren-fair inaccuracies, I don't know which is my favorite: someone in Trek wear like they're on an away mission, or the inevitable random Spider-Man running around. ha ha

Why do we get the feeling that you'll somehow, inevitably, come home with a new gaming kiosk if you do? Ha ha for real though, do it and show it off!!
