I can't get enough of your instruction on the Dead Marty! I know its not for everyone, but you make a whole lot of peoples day every time they see a new Dead video. Your the best for a reason, keep up all the good work! P.S. Touch of Grey would be awsome for us older guys
Hey Marty so glad there are teachers such as yourself that have the passion to teach. I had a instructor that was similar to your teaching style but he quit. THANKS for all your TERRIFIC lessons!!!
Marty -- I have been playing guitar since 1979 mostly major and minor chords and pentatonic licks. I have been wanting to play the blues and love The Dead. This lesson is most impressive. Your style of instruction is absolutely fantastic. Need the 2nd part -- intro solo ! Thanks so much.
hey marty, you are my best scource of guitar because i dont really like my teacher, she only teaches classical stuff and i want stuff like Green Day and The Expendables, if you teach this song, i would be SOOOO happy, its called Sacrifice by The Expendables it has awesome solos and riffs and you are the only person who would be able to teach it to me because my guitar teacher probably wont and the tabs are to hard for me. Thank you so much you are a guitar god!!!
I have been a Deadhead since 1972 in 9th grade. Thanks for showing us the details of this classic. I hear you have one that shows how to jam over it too. Will look for it.
The Grateful dead are easily my favorite band and i really appreciate you putting this video up. But you gotta get some more Jerry tunes. Some of his stuff without the dead is pretty awesome. Some awesome tunes are: The Harder They Come, How Sweet It Is, Thats What Love Will Make You Do, and After Midnight. Thanks Marty, I am 14 and got my guitar about a year ago and the first song i learned was off of one of your videos you've been a huge help in my learning. So Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Marty I think you would be the most viewed youtuber that has responded to me. I would like to say I started over 2 years ago and I have progressed so much at guitar. I learned my first song Enter Sandman by you. Thanks Marty!
Marty thanks for another great video! So awesome that you put this stuff out for free. I would love a lesson on how to play "Sugaree" by the Dead! Thanks man.
Hey man, you just re-acquainted me with this forgotten gem of a tune. Absolutely love it and am adding it to my repertoire. I really appreciate your tutelage! Keep on, keeping on!
I understand this request (it is seen a lot), but Marty is teaching us how to fish! (Not serving us tuna casserole!) Thanks more than you may know, Marty!
I was stoked to learn this song then listened to the first minute of the video the realized I had to listen to it 30 times more. Never got to learning the song...
Hey Marty, its cool the way you toss in why the notes makes sense, ie they are just part of the A major pentatonic scale with the blues note thrown in. Great lesson!
Like the ending with the higher registar chords up the neck of the guitar. I can figure it out. I working on the A myixolydian scale and the two positions for that. Good lesson.
hey man ive been listening to your channel for probably a year. without your help and a few others, due to some songs not being shown on your channel, which is only like two or three. i just wanted to say that your really awesome and could you do BOC burnin for you please
Why not go from a D7 to a D#diminished? Im sure you do when playing for anything but a lesson, but the D7 is an important chord for beginners to learn as well! Much love for you and all that you do! Keep on truckin!
Hey Marty, really diggin' the Dead lessons. Any chance you've posted the solo lesson yet? I watched your other soloing lesson with the Emaj7 to Bminor changes, and really enjoyed it. More like that PLEASE! Thank you for being the man!
I was on the fourth lesson. "Improbable D" But fell out of practice and started again at lesson one. Said I wouldn't jump ahead..but I got tempted😑 I think I may have solved my D troubles. I clearly have too many fingers on my left hand!😋 Yes heads,I know it was jerry's right hand...calm down. 😝 Now to figure out how to have a hatchet accident.. A hatchident!😬
Your video said "Ask marty to do your favorite tune",so here we go ,Can you please teach my favorite tune of all times ever :"Paranoid Android" by Radiohead
