Jessica and I had the chance to make a quick trip out to Sarah's Creek to go overlanding and camping for the night. Little did I know that Sarah's Creek was not the trail I remembered. It was a pretty amazing trail and had a ton of awesome campsites.

I camped off that trail countless times in my 20s. Including the spot where y’all camped. I like that spot a lot. Anyway, the trail used to be way more tame. I used to do it in my old 2wd S10 Blazer. I know the spot you’re talking about after the second water crossing. I was up there three weeks ago and turned around because I was wheeling alone. I had to back downhill and through the creek backwards. My Jeep would have done it, but I didn’t feel comfortable while wheeling alone in a mainly stock Gladiator.

@@SimplyMustGo I went there a lot in the 2000s before I moved to CO in 2009. I moved back to GA in 2022.

I just did this trail on Saturday. That spot where the stream crossing, there was a Ram truck parked there, it made that a little bit trickier because if you slide, possible to slide into that truck. I thought it was fun and pretty easy. I drove a lifted 2005 Grand Cherokee, and my buddy took his 2018 Frontier Pro-4X with street tires.
Yeah it’s a fun, pretty and mostly pretty easy trail. It’s a great spot!
If i can borrow the work jeep, im going to hit that trail this Sunday. It will be my first time off roading. Let's hope all goes good.

Check out the king camp packable chairs. We got the ones with the arm rest. They have a higher back so you can lean back and relax. Got them from Amazon

Matt, I will be hitting this one tomorrow if the Tallulah Gorge is closed for hiking or Tuesday if not. It looked fun. And based on your and another TH-camr's info about Charlie's Creek Rd being graded, well, that doesn't souond super fun. Thanks again for the North GA knowledge. Any other ones you'd recommend up here in and around Toccoa and Clayton.

@@SimplyMustGo It went pretty well, I did not get past one spot, even though I had both lockers and low. It was soaking wet and just too slippery in this one spot. But did the rest of the trail just fine. It was slick, but really handled the rest of the course in 4H with no lockers needed. I did have the sway bar disconnected though. It was also fun to watch the parts of your video again that highlighted the trail running. I forgot about hugging that one tougher spot on the way back and went over it and sled over the skid plates🤣🤦♂. Don't look for that on the video, it got edited out and I re did that part for the camera. And I did the humps which was a little fun if a little crazy. I'll post the video tomorrow about noon or so on My Three Fords, it'll be "Can the Ford Bronco Conquer Sarah's Creek Rd?" and basically the answer is no, because of that one spot that was too muddy at the top of the "humps".

When it comes to camping chairs, my experience is that comfortable and compact don't coexist. Quality, compact also comes at a steep price. I've tried (either purchased or friends) Nemo, Helinox, REI, Front Runner and other brands have settled on a couple oversized chairs from Coleman. GCI has a very comfortable rocking chair, but it's far from compact.
Yeah that’s sort of what I’m afraid of. I’ll check the Coleman ones. I’ve heard good things about the GCI ones.

The reason the chairs were so uncomfortable here in GA was due to the chairs having the wrong letter on them. It's supposed to be a "G" on that red chair. But in all seriousness, like others have said, the KingCamp folding hammock chairs are the way to go buddy.

I did this trail including that big rock washout in my f150 a week ago and no, the video does no justice to how sketchy that was. 😂
I know right! I wish the video (any video) would show it better.
I have a Cascade Mountain Tech folding chair that I use for backpacking. It’s on the heavy side for that, but I think the comfort is worth it. It folds up very small and comes with a storage bag. It doesn’t have arms, but that’s never bothered me. Easy set up, and tear down.

The jeep makes the washout look easy but it’s SOO much worse in person I did it in my STOCK Xterra and I had to get winched up the side 😂😂
Yeah that washout was bad, it never looks as crazy on camera.
Sarah’s creek use to have some nice slightly challenging obstacles then it got graded flat and then shortly after that washout appeared 😂
The size of the dog doesn't matter. My 19 pound dog insists on half the bed also :(

they were KargoMaster, MetalCloak bought the brand name, and its now AdventureRack Systems. But, they have discontinued the side steps. But I know a guy that has 3 more sets.
I’ve wanted to do some part of the travers with my expedition. Do you have to reserve a camping spot or do you just pick an open spot? You’re braver than me, don’t think I’ll be taking my GSD with us. She’ll see a squirrel and it will be over haha
On this trail there are two areas. The lower beginning section are reserved spots but further up it just becomes first come first serve.
There are dozens of campsites in Sarah's Creek area. That can be either good or bad. Off Hale Ridge Road, just to the east, are a few scattered ones as well as a small site, West Fork, with 4 sites and a privy, another few miles to the east, just before Warwoman road ends at 28.

@@SimplyMustGo lol. In all seriousness though I think the company is GCI. They make some super nice stuff that's tough and lightweight. I've looked at getting some for me and Carver but they are a bit pricey.
I got recommended this video and I clicked it because 1. I used to have a red Jeep just like yours and miss it 2. Your doing some local trails which I rarely see on here.
