your meant to butter 1 slice and place it butter side down , fill with your filling , and then place aniother buttered slice ontop facing upwards to help stop it from sticking and also gives a lovely golden colour v
I put it on both sides. I've found using frozen bread doesn't rip the bread when I butter it . Also better to slice cheese rather than grate it. I like Edam and stilton the best rather than cheddar.
Triple the amount she was putting in and your safe,it seals it pretty well, sometimes I have to get my wife to kneel on the top of it to help me close it because it's so stuffed with food, like packing a suitcase. 😜 or use common sense.
butter on the bread on the outside would be best. also this is a deep fill sandwich toaster. i suggest putting more filling in next time and trust me it will be delicious.
Mine tripped the ring main fuse first time I used it ☹️ Googled it and it seems to be a common thing with toasters and sandwich makers ,I hope it does not keep on happening because it will really piss me off resetting everything especially the door chime. But other than that it toasted very well.
I have this sandwich toster. I have tried all sorts but no matter what I do my toasties always leak and don't seal around the edges. I have oiled the plates buttered both sides of bread and cut the crusts off. I'm not over filling but it still leaks.
@@getreview I had to throw it out. The coating on the plate's was pealing off. I've got a Tefal air fryer now and it does much better toasties. Plus chips are tastier and healthier.
The waffles do look a lot more appetizing and are nice and crisp if you butter the outsides of the bread. I don't eat much butter as a rule, but I make an exception with these! Now I'm looking forward to trying out the matching waffle plates that I ordered.
I am looking to buy a new sandwich toaster. My old one was Breville too. I have to replace it because all the non-stick coating comes off and sticks to the sandwiches. It started happening after less than a year! Does anyone know if it happens with this toaster, too? I will look at reviews of other brands too, I really don't like the idea of the coating coming off!
had it now for over 3 months and no, the coating has not peeled or is coming off but then i DONT put my plates in the dishwasher, i remove them and clean them with some liquid dish washer and a sponge, i do the same with my non stick frying pans.
I have just bought this sandwich maker in white with light grey coloured ceramic something-or-other plates, as opposed to the black non-stick coated ones. I can't say yet whether they will be long-lasting or now, but I'm not going to put the plates in the dishwasher. There's no need to, as nothing sticks anyway, and you can just remove residue from cooking with paper kitchen towels.
Update: I had to replace my sandwich maker after roughly 4 years (used on average maybe once or twice a week) because the bread suddenly started sticking to the plates and could only be scraped off in shreds - the coating hadn't come off the plates, and had only very slightly darkened, so there was no visible or obvious reason. I bought the same model again, because I also have the waffle plates for it,
Trial and error to get what you want from this toaster, for me, having the butter on the inside gives a crispier outside AND less grease to clean later, but… that’s me.
Here is my comment or two. Even tho the toaster says it is ready, it differs from bread to bread... that sandwich needed some more time to bring out that maillard reaction. Great voice tho ❤️👍
So cool. Do you have to cook the raw hotdog, raw beef, raw fish, raw fish first separately or you can put all these raw foods on a sandwich and cook everything all at the same time in sandwich maker? Thank you. God bless, Proverbs 3
Just realised that at 2:20 you can clearly see by the arm hair that the person doing the demonstration is a dude. Found that a bit weird given the commentary 😂
These toasters drive me barmy. It would have been so close to being perfect had the size been just a bigger. It's not holding 2 slices of standard bread properly.
The "toasties" look anaemic, not toasted at all. I have the same issue with my Breville, the plates do not get hot enough so you have to leave the sandwich in longer to brown and this causes the filling to boil over and get under the hotplates. this happened to me and I nearly had a fire because molten cheese got under the hotplate and contacted the heating element. I reported this to Breville CS and got fobbed off. Never buying Breville again.
@@gazookerman1328 yeah, I know all that but thanks anyway. What has probably happend is that the 'nanny state'' that the EU is has decreed that the plates shall not get any hotter than X degrees. And it therefore takes too long to properly brown the bread. My solution is to toast the bread first, then make the sandwich using toast. Not ideal but at least it's brown and crispy.

If you want to put a lot more filling in the sandwiches will the machine support it? Or would it be difficult to close/start spilling out of the sides
too much and it will spill!

For a really thick sandwich, a pannini press needs less pressure to close, but it will not give you triangles with sealed edges.

How long would you say it takes from warm up to toasted? I get a ten minute break!!
About 5 minutes, so turn it on, then get all the bits you need, toast it and you got 2 min left, just about.
