    Is ironic that the man who overthrew the Democratically elected president of Nigeria instead of being in prison, is compeseted with president

      That happened because a lot of people don't know Nigeria's history. Most of the people in leadership today won't be there with a more educated electorate.

    I only stumbled across one of your videos for the first time some 2 hours plus ago and it was so enlightening I had to subscribe to your channel immediately. Afterwards i went through every other video posted on the channel and just when i was watching the last, this one dropped. I can't wait to have the next, probably the details of the sixth military coup which you highlighted briefly.
    Really nice job on going here

    Buhari owes this country a lot of apologies fa... but typically, I guess he'll rather not. Instead of apologizing first to Shagari who was still alive at the time, Buhari went ahead to hypocritically apologize to the Abiola family over June 12. We really have clowns on this side of the planet!

    The ineptitude of civilian politicians persist till today even to an alarmingly high level, the difference is just the absence of a coup to stem the tide and press the reset button

    You are correct but wrong in some analysis for instance Col Yakubu Bako pics is what you are displaying not that Brig Gen Ibrahim Bako and Brig Gen Dan Archibong was not the one appointed by Buhari in 1984 but Navy Capt Edet Akpan Archibong please take note

      Nigerians were received into believing that Buhari was a Nigerian patriot,disciplined,uncorrupt and the ironman of the Buhari-Idiagbon brief regime of ,1984.And we stupidly voted him into power in 2015.The true patriot and strong man of that regime was Brigadier-General
      Tinder Idiagbon.Late Idiagbon was a no-no sense disciplined officer with zero tolerance for corruption.A true change agent with charisma and intergrity that could have changed Nigeria for the better.Buhari benefited from Tinder Idiagbon's merits to win the elections because Nigerians failed to recognise these facts.

    Just wondering how Buhari was immediately arrested after the coup when he was said to be in Saudi Arabia at the time, even though he insisted on returning to the country against the advice of his colleagues. He might have been arrested but definitely, not immediately after the coup.

    • @backinhistory9
      @backinhistory9  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Buhari was in the country. Only Idiagbon was outside the country (he was in Saudi Arabia where he went for the hajj). It was Idaigbon who wanted to return to the country immediately when he received the news of the overthrow of their regime. He was however advised not to return. The King of Saudi at the time called for him and made him his guest for several days. He joined in advising Idiagbon that it was unsafe for him to return to Nigeria at the time.
      You can confirm these from President Buhari's media chats in 2018 and 2019 where he described Idiagbon as a man of great loyalty who wanted to return from Saudi Arabia and be with him in Nigeria upon hearing about the coup:
      Vanguard Newspaper of 22 Oct., 2018
      Daily Post of 21 Jan., 2019
      Moreover, the target of every military is the man at the helm. Once he is captured the coup is about 80 percent successful. No coup planners will allow the man at the helm to be that free, at least not when the coup has just been staged.
      Buhari was arrested immediately, sir.
