Thank you, your review is the one that I most looked forward to. For the first time, I can't decide a bias. I have the same picks as the CEO to drop Rora & Asa during the evaluation but I was so wrong. I am sure he is glad that he kept them too especially Asa and who knows what Rora has that we have yet to discover. They are a group to treasure, reminds me a lot of when TVXQ debut. Their split up and later scandals caused me to stay away from kpop fandom for a long time. I have always only been a listener of kpop since then but these BM girls made me raved about them.
Thank you for the fairness in your evaluation once again. I have listened many times and nitpicked very slight flaws from Ahyeon, Pharita, Rora & Ruka in this performance but I appreciate those as the beauty of live singing especially it is such a tough song and they are so young and new. Oh and I love the rock touch by the band.

Pharita is the most stable when compare every songs since the begining from January 2023. For example, in early evaluation video of them, singing "Gone" song, one commentator said "so stable". Also her english pronunciation is the best in the group, and some members had her for assistance in that.

@@Katriinka I'm as happy as anyone to see Ahyeon back in the group. But I've had some concern about how this will affect line distributions, compared to the Stuck in the Middle line distribution. In SITM, the 6-way split was better at giving spotlight to each member. With the 7-way split (and obviously a desire to give more spotlight to Ahyeon after her absence), I knew it would mean less spotlight for some or all of the others. Turns out that at least initially (in both Sheesh and Like That), it has been Rora and Chiquita who gave up spotlight time. Hopefully it will balance out in future songs...and they'll get songs where they get more instead of less.
Rami's role model being Rosé is honestly very fitting. She very early in her career, establishes that she has a very distinguishable voice, so when ever people hear her voice, they know it's her. It's honestly the best u can do when u want to make a name for yourself as a vocalist.
Beside her obvious ability to sing very very good, she also has a voice i would recognize in an instant.
Which is honestly something that many vocalists struggle with. There are many good vocalists, but only few manage to make people recognize their voices, which also has a lot to do with Autotune.
When i first listened to "Gods" by New Jeans, i actually thought it was just one member. Because all their voices sound way too similar and u can see that in many other groups, where they just focus on the quality of the vocals, but never try to give their vocals any "personality", that makes them different from others.
some people argue that the similarity of NewJeans members’ voices r intentional by Min Heejin to create the specific harmonic NewJeans sound, especially Haerin Danielle and Hyein that bridge from Minji to Hanni, u can kinda hear this if u listen closely too
I could definitely hear Rosè vibes from Pharita and a little bit from Ramis vocals, but the latter's are way stronger to be put in a box like that. Funnily they do that aesthetic singing better and more consistently than Rosè herself.😅 Rosès singing was better pre debut, her voice was more versatile also as she didn't restraint herself to her "signature" sound.

That is YG dna I guess. Every yg main vocal have unique and distinguishable voice, even from 2nd gen artist.

I think that Rami and Rora are the best vocalist in the group, technically speaking but also their tones are 👌🏻
yeah I think so too based on many vocal reactors reactions but I feel rora doesn't get the opportunity to show it unfortunately in these recent comebacks. I do feel the Korean line in general are the best vocalists in terms of technique.

All the members have so much to contribute. Rami and Rora do have rounder, fuller "smooth-edged" tones (Chiquita's tones also belong in that category). Ahyeon's and Pharita's tonal quality has a sharper, piercing edge (and Asa's tones mostly go along with this category). Both types of tonal quality can complement each other very nicely and both types are needed for a group like this.

"Sheesh" is almost 3 minutes with 2:50, "batter up" has 03:08 and "stuck in the middle" was even 04:06, only "like that" is 02:48 and that was not YGs song as it was gifted.
I want them to use every talent equally but YG does not have a problem with under 3 minutes songs constantly, they do way better in comparison to other groups who barely manage to give us even 2 minutes.
Yall can't always put every blame on YG, even on things that aren't even true.

Nah SITM wasn't a vocal prowess. 90% of the song was in a head voice. The girls are able to sing, really sing with powerful chest voice.
Let's rather say the songwriters are lazy.
Babymonster are active in social media. Hopefully Ahyeon will notice this, knowing her determination during last evaluation till now she will do anything to improve. 💙 She would love this! 💙

Ramis low tone is defo my fav part it adds such a stylistic dark mood to the song compared to all the higher tones, hoping that she will do more rnb or for a future hip hop rnb too. Rora and Chiquita have v nice soft tones which will defo shine in other songs I think they all still managed to shine in their parts and looking forward to better music coming for BM

Rora is my favorite voice in the group and I agree that her solo performance in Last Evaluation was the best. I would love to hear Ruka sing more as her voice is like a mixture of Rora and Jisoo. The only time she has shown her voice is their cover of Blackpink "Don't Know What to Do" where she hit Jisoo's long high note and sounded great in the singing parts.

Chiquita being this amazing is the main reason why despite having the least time of training was pushed to debut right away. I kinda like how YG knows which trainees deserved to be artists. BAEMON is a gem. Hopefully, they get all the recognition and hype they actually deserve. In Filipino, walang tapon, be it visual, talent, skills and charisma. ❤
The line distribution is going to be a bit rough with 7 members sadly. Just what happens when you have 6 great vocalists and three great rappers in a group. But hopefully it gets better with the full album. What we really need is longer songs would help offset it a little.

I suspect they're having Rora and Chiquita take a bit of a vocal backseat right now BECAUSE of their age. 1. To kind of not put them in the faces of people who hate how young they are as debuted artists but more importantly 2. to keep the additional strain of live performances off of them for a bit so they can continue to safely mature.
They debuted, so no matter how old are they , company should give chance to shine them , especially Rora who is equal good singer as Rami . Seems like company makes < Nayeon Jihyo > without Jeongyeon .

Up until the bridge of Sheesh hit my bias was a toss up between Asa and Rami. Asa is still my favorite rapper in the industry right now, but that bridge solidified how much I love Rami's vocals. The fact they let her use her deeper register in K-POP of all things gives me hopes we'll get to see her really go off in a solo song one day like she did for Pick Up Your Feelings

I think since Chiquita & Rora are the youngest the company is currently not wanting to stress their vocals. They want these 2 to develop their skills in a safe & steady way. I think they're putting health first since they are so young. Just my opinion. We all know both have amazing vocals anyways

great analysis as always. And I agree, Rora and Chiquita, especially Chiquita, have been pushed a bit to the background. They have much more in them, but i think for good reasons. 1. Chiquita's personality is so outstanding. On the first releases, they need to highlight all of them and Chiquita is already very popular. And both of them are so young. Both of them only 15 now. Rami have an amazing talent that I feel they want to highlight since she, pre-debut, have been overlooked a bit by many. Rora and Chiquita will have there time soon enough. As I understand it they are working on a full album that I think YG want to release in the end of the year so they can go on tour ASAP and I expect to see much more from both Rora and Chiquita in the next releases. In my eyes, Chiquita is a little gem that will grow to something special. Vocals, dance, and according to her self, some rap too. Looking forward to see and hear what's next from them :). They are amazing as they are but all of them will keep growing. Confidence will settle and things will happen :)

You check out the lyric video for Like That. I think Rami and Chiquita have more lines in that. It’s not as hard hitting, so it fits their voices better. Also, some really good ad libs in the back.

great/fun reaction a this live performance. i REALLY think you would get a lot out of the 7 tiny little initial live performances that introduced babymonster to us. You certainly would have had the SAME type of biases from that early stage. Thought for sure you would have loved seeing pharita and ahyeon so some mentoring and leading...that type of stuff is pretty endearing.
