  • These two UNESCO World Heritage site Churches of Peace are fascinating buildings. The largest timber-framed religious buildings in Europe, they are Protestant churches in predominantly Catholic areas, and were built under very strict conditions. The buildings must be entirely wooden, no stones or bricks, no towers, more than a gunshot from the city walls, completed within a year and to a different design than existing churches. Very impressive that all of these conditions were satisfied, and that the churches have now stood for 350 years!

These churches were absolutely beautiful, inside and out, and with a fascinating story behind them as well. Do you have a favourite story behind a building or place?

This place is completely unknown! I'm Pole and I've never heard of this building until today :P
Which is strange, bc from what I've read it's quite unique. I read that we also have some pretty good frescos - Siedlecin dated 1350 / Ostrzeszow / Struga / Tyniec. Only ones in Lublin are widely known [and they're great]
      Thanks for doing these videos

I really like your voice and video! Could you please show longer and slower interiors?

Almost like a theater inside instead of a church. Do you know whether the boxes were built for anyone special or just the general congregation?

Just the general congregation I think, though it might be the women's gallery too - though I might be mixing that up with somewhere else.
