    Thanks for the review mate. Greetings from Romania. Had Uniroyal RainSport 3 on a Ford Focus MK1 estate which was driven very hard. In 2 seasons (summer seasons that is) and aprox 15.000 km the inner and outer flanks of the tires were badly worn out (center side of the tire still had 1-2mm over the wear indicators). Bought afterwards RainExpert 2 but drove those only for a season, afterwhich I sold the car. Overall good tires.
    Now I bought the Uniroyal RainSport 5 for my W203 C Class Estate and waiting to see how they handle and feel.
    Paid 1000 lei for all for which is equivalent by today's rates to 189 GBP from which I paid for shipping about 10 GBP.
    I bought them in 205/55/16 91V size.

    Great tyres !! I mean they do wear down slightly quicker than most expensive tyres hence why they are not classed as premium tyres but they are amazing tyres, they perform just as good and sometimes even better. Amazing tyres. I highly recommend. And for those who didn't know, Uniroyal tyres are manufactured by Continental. Top brand

    I run rs3’s on my mk1 audi s3 and love them! To battle the soft sidewall i run a higher tyre pressure and this has also aided in keeping the tyre wear even!

    Just ordered some rain sport 5s in 265/35/18 for my E350CDI estate. I had the rain sport 3s before for my Lexus IS250 and I liked them a lot. People complain they are too soft , but they were fine for me, so I decided to check the new ones out. I currently run Pirelli P Zero front and rear , but I really do not like them , too noisy and the car is very unstable in the wet. I’m not a spirited driver, most of the time I drive on motorways and have my kids at the back anyway , so not so much worried about lack of sporty handling etc. I have my car mapped to 327 bhp and 720 Nm torque so regardless of what tyre I put on if I want to spin the tires I will. My only concern is the weight of the car , I’ve never had a car so heavy and I hope the tyre will be up to the job( I got the XL anyway). For me I rate safety more than any other aspect of the product. Water dispersion is by far the top of my list when it comes to safety . I worked as a policeman for 4 years and I’ve seen more incidents as a result of this than anything else. Regarding the video, well done mate , to the point nice and honest. Real world car in a real world scenario .

  • @matthewjenkins1161
    @matthewjenkins1161 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would suggest inner edge wear on the back may be down to lowering, which likely increased your static negative camber.
    The central part wearing less, suggests you want to increase tyre pressures a few psi all round.
    If you are running a lower profile tyre than stock, you need to increase your tyre pressures, from the manufacturers recommended.
    If the rear camber is non-adjustable, see what aftermarket parts are available to sort it.

    I have noticed that the shoulder on the left front is worn out and the rest of the tyre has about 3mm on it.
    I think it’s due to roundabouts on left hand driving in the U.K.
    It’s just a theory as my car has the tracking regularly checked.
    Other than that I absolutely love these tyres for wet grip.

      I don't know if the sidewall on RS5 is any stiffer than RS3. Somewhere, in a customer review, I read that indeed they are. But personally, even with the RS3 i didn't had any problem at all. The secret with tires that have very soft sidewalls is to add more air pressure. In my Uniroyal RS3, i always use 40psi, instead of the normal 32psi. The car responds faster, it grips amazing on the street, and you eliminate the problems that can be caused by the soft sidewalls.

      The rainsport 2 and 3 had really soft sidewalls and the tyre rolls quite a lot when cornering. You can run a bit more tyre pressure to compensate but you can dial it out completely.
      So it does depend on the weight of the car but with the roll it causes ware on both edges of the tyres. Agree suspension geometry usually causes ware but in this case it’s the soft sidewalls.
