I'd worked as a mule Packer / Guide in the high country up in Wilderness Area of the San Jaun Mtns near Durango, Co and also worked on cattle ranches in AZ, NM + CO. Many nights with my saddle next my fire, spent next to a stream or river, the murmuring of the constantly flowing water, would sound like there were distant voices in the night, somewhere along the water's edge, or perhaps, it was La Llorona, wailing for her drowned babies.
