So, I am not sure how many people are going to share my sentiment here. There are so many songs that have heard. I listen to them at various times in my life, and I heard then as I went through my 32 years on this planet... I honestly think that, at face value, this song was one I thought was a pretty good song and I could relate to. However, after spending my entire life in poverty, being put through hell after hell by people from blood to strangers to those in power to someone who thought that by getting enough angry people riled up that they could hold onto power they had abused and continue to abuse even after losing it, and all I can say is. My story has had very few bright points. I have been living in extreme poverty for 11 years and counting, I have had multiple near death incidents, several by my own biological dad. I have been written off by medical professionals and been emotionally and mentally abused so many times and so often that I truly believed my sister's first husband physically abusing her was worse than her second husband having an affair and continuing the affair after pleading with her to take him back. "Please tell me what there is to complain about." Oh, I would love to. Unfortunately, it would take so long to do that, I doubt you have that many years left on the planet. I hear a lot of songs that stay relevant, or get better with age. This one, to me? It sounded good when I was younger, but the years have made it sour like milk would if you left it sitting out of the fridge too long Just so you know, I will not see any responses to this comment. Any attempts to try and shame or say something to make me feel guilty, while it wouldn't work in the first place. Would be a massive waste of your time. I just felt the need to get that out there

I have to disagree. After an accident 2 years ago (age 25) I was diagnosed with a spinal cord injury. Almost completly paralysed from the neck down. Theres nothing left for me to do, lost everything and can't live on my own. After long consideration I will probably arrange an appointment for euthanasia in switzerland. This state ist worse than death.

In contrast to all the other comments here: I am happy to be grown up now. I see things more clearly & stopped dreaming so much. That dreaming around didn't really help me in becoming a better or more functioning human. It was always the focused & goal-oriented parts of my life that brought me forward. I was not intelligent enough to allow myself continuous dreaming while going through life. Some people are and that is very admiring. That's the people who keep their inner child. I just come back here to try and help remind myself how I felt a few years ago and what I was thinking & doing back then. Also, it helps me a great deal to remember people from different times. I might come across them in the future and will know exactly from where I remember them thanks to this nostalgic music that awakens memories. It is very interesting, this tension feeling between: Beautiful nostalgia & simultaneously knowing there are goals ahead I need and want to fulfill to become more adept in the future. Both very positive feelings. Never do I think: "I want to be a child again." when listening to this.

So, I am not sure how many people are going to share my sentiment here. There are so many songs that have heard. I listen to them at various times in my life, and I heard then as I went through my 32 years on this planet... I honestly think that, at face value, this song was one I thought was a pretty good song and I could relate to. However, after spending my entire life in poverty, being put through hell after hell by people from blood to strangers to those in power to someone who thought that by getting enough angry people riled up that they could hold onto power they had abused and continue to abuse even after losing it, and all I can say is. My story has had very few bright points. I have been living in extreme poverty for 11 years and counting, I have had multiple near death incidents, several by my own biological dad. I have been written off by medical professionals and been emotionally and mentally abused so many times and so often that I truly believed my sister's first husband physically abusing her was worse than her second husband having an affair and continuing the affair after pleading with her to take him back.
"Please tell me what there is to complain about." Oh, I would love to. Unfortunately, it would take so long to do that, I doubt you have that many years left on the planet. I hear a lot of songs that stay relevant, or get better with age. This one, to me? It sounded good when I was younger, but the years have made it sour like milk would if you left it sitting out of the fridge too long

I'm a 20 year old daughter. I can only imagine what my mom would be like if I were gone 💔. Life is crazy and difficult, and can feel very long. But when I stop to listen to a message like in the song, I think back on my childhood and I initally have angry feelings about it. I feel like I've grown to appreciate even the tough areas because in the end, I think it were a pretty good life.

I have to disagree. After an accident 2 years ago (age 25) I was diagnosed with a spinal cord injury. Almost completly paralysed from the neck down. When this song came out I was a depressed teen and had absolutely no hope for the future, now I’m in my mid twenties and own a home with the love of my life and have two kittycats and a great job I love… but I’ll always come back to this song no matter how many years pass, it really helped me out of a dark place ✨

I was 18 when this song came out. I used to feel positive. But now i feel like there is no sign of good life. Too depressed to smile and even think +ve
In contrast to all the other comments here: I am happy to be grown up now. I see things more clearly & stopped dreaming so much. That dreaming around didn't really help me in becoming a better or more functioning human. It was always the focused & goal-oriented parts of my life that brought me forward. I was not intelligent enough to allow myself continuous dreaming while going through life. Some people are and that is very admiring. That's the people who keep their inner child. I just come back here to try and help remind myself how I felt a few years ago and what I was thinking & doing back then. Also, it helps me a great deal to remember people from different times. I might come across them in the future and will know exactly from where I remember them thanks to this nostalgic music that awakens memories. It is very interesting, this tension feeling between: Beautiful nostalgia & simultaneously knowing there are goals ahead I need and want to fulfill to become more adept in the future. Both very positive feelings. Never do I think: "I want to be a child again." when listening to this.
