Good morning! A couple of things to keep in mind: one is that this obviously doesn't reflect the opinions of "all" people; this is just a group of a few thousand who happen to follow me on my instagram. There will be biases due to age, demographic, the fact that all of these people obviously follow me and many other youtube "influencers" - so the results are not to be taken as a serious reflection on a perfume's standing. It's just for fun! It also goes to show that perfume is very subjective because a few that landed on the hated list also landed on the loves list. At the end of the day it's just scented water and we should wear whatever we want. I hope you enjoy watching :)

From a consumer research perspective: the reason you see some of the most popular perfumes in this list is because it’s the perfumes more people know off the top of their head. It all comes down to unaided awareness.

There is often also a connection to the person who posts the poll. There was a popular influencer who conducted one of these Instagram polls, and she was seemed so shocked to see the fragrance that she'd developed featured on the list. She acted surprised that such a niche fragrance would be known well enough to rate, but she seemed to forget (or ignore) that the poll was conducted among HER Instagram followers, so of course they knew about her fragrance. I think if you watch several of these videos you will notice that the fragrances listed are most often fragrances that have been talked about (either positively or negatively) on the channel that is associated with the poll.

One thing I'd like to know in these polls of liking a fragrance, is what is the average age is in smelling the fragrances?
I'm 71 y.o. so perhaps this is generational. I LOVE Shalimar. My husband loves it. Still. My other fragrances I change up with is Chanel #5, Ysatis, Arpege, Sortilege by Le Galion, and Madame Rochas. These are all old school scents and are not the same today, as when they were made back in the day. Don't care for the scents today and real perfume is so ungodly priced, you end up having to choose something else. If I could buy just one and it was made with the same ingredients back when I was younger, it would be Sortilege by Le Galion. The knockoffs of this are horrible.

BR 540 is a forever love for me. I have the EDP and the extrait . I hope folks don’t dislike stuff because it’s popular. Doesn’t matter how hyped it is if I love it or hate it , it is what it is. Fragrances just like music takes me places memories etc. I prefer the Black Opium extreme , La via belle I prefer the L’ECLAT. which are both in my collection. I also own Alien however I live in Florida so sometimes it’s just hard to wear. Channel #5 is a hard no along with Black orchid. great video 💕

I'm the same way with music and fragrances and the l'eclat is also my favorite La Vie Est Belle scent. Any of the Twilly perfumes by D'Hermes are pure perfection but very expensive. In love with anything with the pink pepper being the top note or at least one of the top ones. Greatest pink pepper blend I've encountered is combined with jasmine. A body spray from Italy by Eau Des Alpes is extremely incredible. Any scent of theirs was always unique and wonderful but jasmine rose pepper is just flawless. Nearly impossible to find since all this globalism crap is swallowing up many companies you won't find eau des alpes on the web anymore. CVS had it in 2014 and then it disappeared and some online had it then it just vanished but did find it in Italy although it's no longer being produced tragically. Got 6 bottles shipped fedex express since Italy's postal service is apparently worse than ours if that's believable. Many say they never see orders from Italy and because of their dumb shipping method it's expensive. Cheapest is $27 but fedex express is $48. Got it in less than a week and had the extra money so you bet I bought it. Supposedly expired in 2019 but not at all weakened. It has strong memory attachment for me as well but its flawlessness popped even before that happened.

That's why everyone hates it now. I'd love to try Jimmy Choo..sounds great. Men I've noticed are attracted to Vanilla . One time my ex bought me Chloe Narcisse back in the day. I thought this fragrance was too strong , very sweet..he begged me to wear it. Well, he was right. It was sweet and sexy . When I wear just a spritz of Vanilla by Bodycology everyone was like you smell so good, what are you wearing? So there you go..Vanilla, patchouli, powder..whatever attracts. Here is the thing though to the young ladies that mock the classics , you stick to the modern ones that way we stand out. wow I have By the Fireplace and love it, used to wear and love Shalimar, went through a Juicy Coutoure phase and had Angel for awhile too - very interesting video, going to watch the most popular video next 😀

Great video for this life long perfume addict. I really dislike anything with patchouli in it. It took me a long time to work out, but when I did so many of my likes & dislikes made sense.

Love Prada Iris it's smells warm, gentle and slightly talcum powdery.

I really enjoy Cloud for bedtime or cozy weekends at home. But I am absolutely nose blind to it within minutes. I can't even smell it on my clothes. I haven't decided if I'm willing to try the intense to see if it's better.

I love Angel and Alien Goddess. Lately, I've been wearing the Angel body creme or lotion and skipping the parfum. I get sooo many compliments when I'm wearing Angel. My new fragrance for the spring/ summer is Delina.

Good video idea 😊 I prefer Angel on myself but only in small doses. I do like the original Alien (not a fan of the strong flankers like oud or musc) but it reminds me of my aunts who always wore it, so I can’t wear it myself. Really surprised it was number one but not as surprised by Angel. 💖

Hated: Georgio, Rive Gauche, Poison, Angel, Ed Hardy anything, Red , Samsara. Some of the iconic fragrances have changed formulas so much that
they're almost not recognizable. I think Chanel 5 is one of them. I would never wear La Vie. but I love it on several friends.

Love black orchid! It just draws me in. Polarizing, very original, and beautifully blended in my opinion. Libre smells beautiful on other people just don't like it on myself at all. Most disliked for me is angel, never had a fragrance repulse me before.

My dentist used to wear Black Orchid and she was heavy handed with it, so I thought I didn’t like it. Then I smelled it myself and really enjoyed so I think the magic is in the quantity.

Angel by Mugler is an icon for a reason, it brings up so many memories for me of growing up, its my mum's signature scent.

    I don't wear perfume often when I do it's Chanel no. 5.
My husband likes it & I always get compliments from others.
The perfume oil is better than Eau de toilette and will last forever. A little bit goes a long way
I think some fragrances don't react well with certain people's body chemistries.

I totally agree about BR 540 and cloud. I pick up something slightly medicinal in both of them that reminds me of being at the dentist. I’m not sure what it is but maybe that is what other people pick up too. I also dislike Libre.

Almost all perfumes give me a migraine, but I gave my daughter the Angel in the red bottle last Christmas. Love the smell of that stuff. Also the original Opium smells amazing. Haven’t tried the Black.

I think when you ask can influence too. Right now we're moving into spring and I'm ready to put away my heavier winter scents and move into more sugary florals and citrus scents.

I personally dislike Dior addict. I was really hoping I'm gonna love it, it could be my skin chemistry but for the life me I can't understand how people find it sexy. On me it just smells like a pumpkin pie, honestly it's a great candle scent. A perfume? I don't think. Again it could be just my skin.

I’m a Black Opium Extreme and Cloud 2.0 lover. If you declutter your LVEB bottle again, you should get a travel spray next time 😂

Absolutely agree on each hated fragrance on the list. I have a box full of samples I got from Ulta and Sephora and these names are all represented there. Ylang ylang, pachouli, sweet or gourmand fragrances make me nauseous or give me a headache. Fresh and citrusy scents are the best for my nose ☺️.

Absolutely love Libre, but you have to spray sparingly as it can choke you out if over sprayed. I don’t like cloud because it turns on me and smells like burnt rubber and Baccarat smells like a bandaid. Have La Vie Est Belle, but I don’t like it because I had a coworker who over sprayed and ruined it for me.

Chanel No. 5 takes me back to my childhood watching my mom getting ready to go out with my dad. It was the last thing she did...spritzing on Chanel No. 5. It was her signature scent and it makes me smile.

I think it comes down to personal preference in terms of perfume strength. Sometimes perfumes makes us sick. I personally like the depth of black opium but not necessarily the strength of LVEB. Libre is a nice perfume and I get the hype, but because of how strong it is, I wouldn’t wear it personally. Narciso for her EDT is my all time favorite, I guess it could be the musk that some don’t like? Perfumes are so personal that it is very hard to make something that would please everyone :).

I love, love, love Le Vie Est Belle!💗🥰 I receive so many compliments on it and lately, many people actually recognize this perfume by name. I recently went shopping for another perfume just to see what’s out there. After several days of sampling different scents, I decided to just stay with my first and best choice, Le Vie zest Belle! And now, I love it even more because nothing even comes close to being as wonderful💋
