Firstly, I think the format of this video is very well done! It’s awesome you volunteer and help out your neighbors while wear testing the boots. Cheers to you! It’s cool we give the impression of a large company with a lot of resources! We’re actually still a small team. Example: I’m the CEO/lead designer/youtube video commenter : ) I’ve been pretty happy with the fit of the multiple Desperados I wear tested, but we genuinely appreciate the feedback and I will be reviewing customer feedback on Sunday again now that the collection has been on people’s feet for 5 months. The callout on adding multiple widths is 100% valid and I think your callout why it is even more important for boots without laces is correct. Just so you know, we don’t make more money by not offering multiple widths. We make less money because we aren’t serving people with non-standard widths and they are more likely to return the boot if they do order. We’ve been slowly rolling out EE/EEE widths across the line but the biggest reason we haven’t done as much as we should is because we’re still a small company with limited production capacity and as the primary fit tester I am a D width. I look forward to the day we are able to offer you and everyone else with wide/narrow feet the perfect fitting boots! P.S. Although it hurts a little and motivates me to continue working hard, the song at the end is pretty hilarious 🏆
I own a 2 pairs of Thursdays the Captain in brandy and the Duke in honey suede. The fit is amazing for my D width and I can't wait to try these western boots! Thursday quality is amazing at an amazing price! I don't know why Jeremiah went a little harsh on ya'll just because of width issues after I have seen other videos on boots he's done with similar issues and not be even half as harsh on those brands as he did here. Keep up the good work guys! I love your products.
I appreciate the honest review. I love the square toe on this cowboy boot. I’ve owned it for a few months, they fit me perfect and no complaints . It might be the sizing issue for you. Which can make or break a boot.
I own them in Arizona Adobe color. Absolutely love these boots and get so many compliments. I like that the toe isn't as tall or as squared off as others. Had them for several months now and logged many, many miles on them. I did get them a little scratched up on a ranch one day.... had to hoof it quite a ways to get to where the horses wanted to hide. Wasn't planning on a hike as they're not my "ranch wear boots" Otherwise my Dan Post are my "work boots". I found them to fit true to size though. I can't say I've ever seen you bash a pair of boots like you did these and it's really surprising to me as I love mine. Sure, width might be an issue and maybe downsizing is why you had issues, like Rockin Leather boots don't fit a lot of people properly because of their sizing model.
I definitely have a pair, the Old Town color. I did find that they are a little snug in the toe box and the heel slip does feel different than other boots. However, I thoroughly do enjoy wearing them on colder days because the leather feels a little thicker and my feet stay warm in them. I appreciate your honesty and buying these boots to test for us.
Rubber soles are so necessary for winter weather! I fell on my ass so much when I was first getting into boot because I wore those leather soles on the ice and snow haha.
Hey Chris, did you go half a size smaller than your regular shoe size? (Which is advised on Thursday's website) Or did you just go with the regular size that you usually wear. I am wondering, because if they are a little snug, I may not bother going a 1/2 size smaller.
@Bubblegum_Wolf it's half a size bigger not smaller I'm size 8 and I got both my boots size 8.5 and they fit perfect I just wear dressing socks for better comfort
@@baum7222 if they’re your cup of tea that’s great! You can easily buy a boot that’s full grain without a top coat for less. I got some Capitan cowboy boots for $99 on sale. They have sales on different boots year long depending on what they have in stock. $99-$150 on sale for $250-ish boots. Handmade in Mexico the classic way, with the addition of a nonslip section in the sole.
I have done alot of researching on reviews for these. I'll say i agree with most people the quality probably won't be %100 compared to other brands. That being said for what they are, i like the design of them and mainly the old town shade of tan. That's such a rare color that caught my eye. So as long as they can be re soled one day i think i'll grab a pair even if they have some minor issues.
Thursday Boot Co. came off as a fashion boot company. That's NOT to say they're a bad company. I own many pairs of Thursdays, and in many styles. Obviously the boots which were not made as work boots won't perform properly under harsh conditions. Yet, work like a charm under normal everyday use conditions.
I bought this boots as my first cowboy boots and I love them. Maybe they don’t have all the wids for everyone but for regular and wide feet they are great I can’t complain also this leather can take a beating u wipe it down and looks like new again and the toe is the best part because they have a slick look to it not like a scuare toe that looks like a brick
Usually I try to be a bit more diplomatic because everyone is looking for something different. It just makes me frustrated when I see a brand trying to take advantage of an audience and trend with a product that wasn't thought through fully
I’ve been waiting for a channel I trust to review these as quality cowboy boots or not before making a decision to buy them. I’m cool with Thursdays being the affordable footwear company that is upfront about the shortcuts that they take to deliver the value for price that I believe they do. Thanks for looking at these to see if they’re worth getting as western boots.
"Hi Jeremiah, I hadn't seen your video! For the size, if you are a 12, you have to take an 11.5 for the feet but no more! and above a 12.5 for example unless it's is too wide or big! I am a 9 D or even 8.5 D or size E in 8.5 and I only have one pair of boots in size 9.5 US! After that it's too big, everything depends on the seam or the realization or construction of the boot!”
Jeremiah! I've been watching your channel for two years, sir, and you STILL have not tried out the Sendra brand. I don't say that because I think you'll necessarily fall in love with their western boots, but just for entertainment value. I'm really curious what you will think about them. Occasionally we see folks wearing Sendra on the cowboy boots reddit or even in your facebook group. Sendra has narrow shafts. They're great with a straight leg jean or any trousers that are more slim to fit. Sir, it is time.
I'm trying. I'm not a rich man at all and it is difficult to get them. Plus, I haven't gotten an overwhelming amount of requests for sendra like I have with these Thursday boots or Tecovas so it is tough for me to justify buying some without having a sponsor or partner. We'll see what happens this year though
I bought a pair of the Frontiers hoping my experience would be better because D width usually fits me fine. They did fit okay, but the leather was not impressive and the heel was not balanced right. Hopefully they'll continue with R&D and make some improvements.
I feel like you'd like the Mavericks or the Frontiers better by Thursday because they are a little more traditional with the leather sole and full grain leather. If you can try one of those that would be awesome!
Too bad to see a company like Thursday Boots making a cowboy boot more like a lace-up type boot. It’s boots like these that end up giving people the wrong idea as to how a pair of cowboy boots should fit and feel like.
Wow very honest and TY! I was looking for another pair of boots and considered these. Your last 3 points on heel slip, blisters and fit saved me a from a potential bad purchase. 🇺🇸
Very informative, Good inside info about cowboy boot sizing from cowboy boot enthusiast.. I did not know this . ....however, too pricey for good year welt, Stack heel, Shank, full grain and all that craftsmanship, detail? Etc. Etc....these are Bold statements!. Best wishes on boot width journey. Thank you for your honest opinion . Bold and insightful.
Greetings Jeremiah from Peoria IL thanks to the videos you have maid I started wearing cowboy boots 3 going on 4 yrs now I have a question I was thinking about getting me a new pair what are your thoughts on Dan Post the Renegades
This boot didn't go wider on my feet. I had the same issue with my toes being against the toebox and the leather was a bit too snug on my instep. I went up a 1/2 size and perfect fit! Not wide the ball of my foot fit well.
Looks like a nice casual boot and good review. But at that price I think I’ll go with some Ariat boots, they been doing it longer and are known for boots. Maybe after a year or so I’ll check them out after some long term use
Liked your review! A little brutal at the end, but sometimes the truth hurts! Reminds me of my “entry” to cowboy boots with Tecova and Rujos, ok for newbie, but have come to appreciate the more traditional now. Thanks JC
Hey Frankie! That can happen with all cowboy boots and the best way to combat it is by wearing over the calf boot socks. I like the black Dan post boot socks a lot and I also like the Thoros 12- Hour work shift sock because it has a lot of padding but it is thicker so it may not work with some of your boots
I'm in my 20s but I think I'm getting old because I thought it was super neat you got a carton of eggs! Lol first time being excited for something like that haha
I was waiting for your review on this one. I have a pair of Thursday lace ups that I enjoy and about a dozen pairs of cowboy boots that I rotate through. I won't be adding a pair of Thursdays for now. I just ordered up some Rhodes Ropers in Mojave Suede. Would love to see your take on them
I really don't understand the garbage comment. You admit they don't sell this version in your size. It's not garbage because the wrong size doesn't fit you.
I didn't say they were garbage because they didn't fit. I said they were garbage because they didn't care to make width sizes at all. When you make cowboy boots, width sizes are required.
@Jeremiah Craig your exact words were that they fit like garbage. I can understand if one is used to a certain feel that they would be unhappy, but this company apparently has a market that likes the fit and feel of their boots, and that doesn't make it garbage. I can't fit into every size 12 on the shelf but that doesn't make the ones I can't fit into garbage. I do appreciate an honest review though telling us and showing us where the differences are. I likely would not try this because I like room for my toes and I have issues with my left heel and blisters.
The rubber sole doesn't impress me and then the square toes. Definitely not a boot ill personally be looking at. Having said that i do like the choice of leather, it is a nice choice. I have a pair of lace up ropers with that leather and it holds up well. Oh and id have an issue with fit as well. They definitely need to offer more options.
Don't let this video disuade you from getting a pair of TBC Desperados these are still a very good pair and quality is good. Just make sure to get your best fit
It's a nice looking boot and it totally my style, but it ultimately would come down to fit. I wear extra wide. This would be a total pass for me. Plus, not a fan of that outsole.
Lots of questionable comments made in this video that made me question the review. Big company, just looking for money, too expensive etc are some that come to mind. I do agree there should be more widths though. I encourage everyone not to base your purchase off of this one video.
They make fake plasticy boots that are nearly sneakers, fake logger boots and now fake cowboy boots! I got their jodhpurs though and I like 'em but the quality is bad because the strap stitching wears off immediatly on the buckle.
I've often thought that you've shilled quite a bit for most brands, almost as if they're sponsoring a video which ruins the honest and bold transparency, but I thoroughly enjoyed this realistic review and hopefully Thursday will take into consideration of the feedback you've provided with the audience you have. The one brand I did purchase based on your recommendation was the Hondos - the ones in particular that you linked to from this video, quite a while back and they've been my daily users for a long time. Throughout this video, I was a bit interested in these boots (although I prefer leather outsoles), but it immediately turned me off when they don't support showing the actual width sizes, or offering them, as I'm a 2EE - these would have killed me. My feet thanks you.
Thanks! I'm really glad you're enjoying your Hondo boots. After doing reviews for nearly 5 years now, one of the biggest things I've struggled with is fairness. Everyone is looking for something different and there are ways to communicate the pros and cons of brands so folks know what to realistically expect without putting them down with harsh criticisms. What matters to me at the core is if the boot brand is actually trying to serve their customer base and audience. When I find a company that I feel is trying to take advantage (like Thursday in this case), I will let it be known. I can understand how you may see style as shilling. To me, everything is about balance and empathy and I continue to get better at how I present pros and cons with every video so thanks for sticking with me.
I can feel every stone through the soles of my boots. Rose Anvil did a penetration test and Thursdays did not do well. I do like the more narrow square toe, the narrower welt (that won’t hold as much mud and dirt) and the leather quality.
I live in Hungary and here almost only Spanish (Sendra, Sancho) or locally made cowboy boots are available. I have never seen any of them offering different widths so it depends on our luck if we find a good pair or not.
I've had a pair of Black Desperados for a while now(since they came out). They are comfortable, but I'm not a fan of the insoles. For reference, I wear through a pair of expensive removable insoles within 3 months(I'm basically built like a linebacker, 250lbs 6ft size 11EE shoe. I can say the ones I ordered were pretty snug at first, but over time, they definitely feel so much better. However, back to the insoles. I've completely torn through the leather topping of the poron foam where my big toes are, and that really sucks because I really like the way these boots look. The narrowish square toe just looks fantastic, and I like the design on the shaft. I also encountered that when you need to clean them, the dye on the heel stack and welt rubs right off, so instead of black, they are more dark brown. But otherwise than that stuff, these are too bad, I guess. I like the look, but materials are questionable at best. 5/10
I got a laugh on the intro, or are they a half-ass made boot? Lol, I think that question was answered. I can't wear things like that on my feet. I'd clean them up & return them for a refund JC, as a defective product
I was suspecting this type of fit when I saw there were no wide fits. Disappointing, but I wasn't going to buy a pair anyway, so I suppose it doesn't much matter.

Rose Anvil did a review where the boots were cut in half and examined the leather. He found these boots to be of equal quality to Luccheses.
I've done videos on both as well and can say with 100% certainly that Rose Anvil is wrong if that's what he actually said

At 2:10 that’s just an up side down flor de lis or however you spell itz
Lots of questionable comments made in this video that made me question the review. Big company, just looking for money, too expensive etc are some that come to mind. I do agree there should be more widths though. I encourage everyone not to base your purchase off of this one video.
They make fake plasticy boots that are nearly sneakers, fake logger boots and now fake cowboy boots! I got their jodhpurs though and I like 'em but the quality is bad because the strap stitching wears off immediatly on the buckle.
Tecovas did it for me
I've often thought that you've shilled quite a bit for most brands, almost as if they're sponsoring a video which ruins the honest and bold transparency, but I thoroughly enjoyed this realistic review and hopefully Thursday will take into consideration of the feedback you've provided with the audience you have.
I wear a 13B. No B, no buy!
🎶 “Thursday Boots needs to go back home; leave those cowboy boots alone.” 🎶 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for telling it like it is Jeremiah. Decent looking boot. To bad they don't know/care how they fit .
Dye will come off of lots of brands at the heels. Try some of that edge dressing (but use black for your black boots). It seriously works wonders!
Boots company limited in sizes and models... I'm EE so not even considering. (Definitely not for everyday construction business )
Made in Mexico take my money !!!
This guys mannerisms remind me of nobodyepic. Idk if anyone here knows who that is lol
You got paid in eggs? You’re rich 😂
The boots look average and the outsole looks like a golf shoe
haha that's what I said! Definitely felt like a rich man with those dozen eggs!
All cowboy boots are a flop IMO, but good on you for helping out the neighbors. That is really cool.
Glad I didn't buy any
