Fun reaction as always! Couple of notes about some of the German words (other than all the names, which you can look up or not as you feel like): 1. The place-name Äußerst is pronounced like "OY-serst" in English. The umlaut in Äu changes the vowel sound, and ß is not a B - it's often transliterated into English as a double-S. 2. The Ws are pronounced as Vs, so it's "La-VEEN-eh" and "VEER-bel." 3. Fun fact: "stille" means "silent" - because they're faster than sound. 😁
Bcs this is literally a bestie relationship coded, it's not bcs she said she's cute that it's sexual or romantic ? Would that mean every besties are lesbians ? Two people can be very close without being attracted to each other.
@@blabla94561 They totally can, but these two aren't. I'm pretty sure we'll get stronger evidence of that in S2, but also their relationship is playing out a specific manga/anime trope. Frieren is great about not relying on those, and even subverting some, but it's still a manga/anime. Look at how short Himmel got as an old man. Look at the completely unnecessary jokes about Frieren being jealous of Fern's chest. Look at how Sein doesn't just want an "older woman," he wants an "onee-san" - a specific waifu archetype. There are tropes; Kannine (Lawanne?) is one of them.
@@aediusbarbatus They can if they were, but their relationship shows no sign of sexual or romantic attraction, and it's the same in the manga. I don't see the connexion with Himmel being short nor about Frieren being envious of Fern's chest, even for Sein that he wants an older woman, onee-san type is a mature and charismatic woman with a maternal nature; what he wants
fun fact, Ubel means Evil/bad in german LOL
Yeah that checks out lol - Matt

The big white bird monsters also have a German name that's not so much "fun fact" as "damn, that's cold" but they haven't said it yet.
Start shipping Kanne & Lawine! ❤
Hah! Love your gaydar! U have no idea how many reactors out there go "aw they are like sisters!" And me 🤨
SAME. It's honestly crazy to me how many people don't see what's RIGHT THERE.
