in australia (or at least the area i live in) it’s VERY UNCOMMON for people to put our flag outside their house. i’ve seen a few houses that have flag poles and stuff but not a lot. around grand final time people like to display their teams flag and stuff. america is all kinds of weird tho.

Flags aren't very common in Australia to answer your question, sometimes schools will have the Aus flag and indigenous flag out the front, but we never have them at houses or in classrooms

About the bear comment, I think most 4 legged animals just have thighs, that is why when they are particularly muscular (like bears) you can realize. Also where you see their "butt" is actually straight up where their pelvis reaches their spine and not heir pelvis itself. They are built weird
In the Netherlands we hang up the flag on a couple occasions but even then not everyone does is. Happens during kingsday, liberation day which is 2 days (may 4th when we remember the fallen and may 5th where we celebrate being liberated from the nazis) big football tournaments and when a kid graduates from high school (we hang the flag outside with the backpack on the end of the pole)
