Thupten Jinpa, English translator to H.H. the Dalai Lama དགེ་བཤེས་ཐུབ་བསྟན་སྦྱིན་པའི་གསུང་སྒྱུར་ལམ་བུ།
Geshe Thupten Jinpa has been the principal English translator to the Dalai Lama for more than 25 years. Born in Tibet, he received his early training as a monk in South India and his Geshe Lharam degree from Ganden Monastic University. Jinpa talks about how he first became the translator to the Dalai Lama and about his life and experience in that role. In his view, precise translations between Tibetan and English on complex philosophical and cultural subject matter is possible due to the breadth and depth of the two languages.
