I don't understand all of the bashing on Taeyeon going on in these comments. She is my bias but I can admit that compared to these two she is in last place, but that doesn't mean she isn't amazing in her own league. Ailee has a great technique. But I perfer Hyorin because she sings with more feelings to me. I like her raspy voice is so beautiful. Some reason when I watch Ailee, I'm like "Wow she sings really good." When I watch Hyorin I'm speechless and more amused than Ailee's performances. For Taeyeon is good but not as good as Hyorin and Ailee. All them have a very nice voice compare to other Kpop females.
Ailee is a true diva. She is someone who can effortlessly sing those high notes and still manage to smile in the middle of it. Next would be Hyorin then Taeyeon.

Ailee & Hyorin put so much technically in their singing and in the clips there was they're competed so that's why. While Taeyeon puts so much emotions in her singing and her belts are not so powerful than other because she's sing with her heart and not to impressed somebody. FYI she hitted G5 in studio. :)

Ailee and Hyorin's voice would probably last longer than Taeyeon not because of the age thing but because their techniques are better. when u sing with the wrong techniques, u risk damaging ur vocal cords in the long run and shorten ur singing career.. Ailee and Hyorin's techniques which promote healthier singing will help them preserve their vocals longer

At any rate, it's not about singing high notes, it's about singing them with the correct technique.. Like I said, improper technique will damage the vocal cords.. It's really SM's fault for not stressing vocal training as much as Hyorin and Ailee got. Hyorin during her debut was nowhere as good as she is now, showing tremendous improvements over the years, Taeyeon improved too since debut, but not so much

This is what I don't get..you picked very good videos for HyoRin, but for the other two they were just sloppy. I'm not saying you favor HyoRin, but there are better clips you could have chosen for TaeYeon and Ailee. I'm mainly going to talk about TaeYeon, because her choices were the messiest. Her first C5 was great, but the Holler C5..yes it was resonant, but there are better rested C5s you could have chosen from during the Holler promotions. Her first C#5 was fine...but why that Baby Baby C#5? Yeah it's OK..but she has much better ones..like the ones in Oh Holy Night..a clip you used. Now TaeYeon doesn't have much saving grace above C#5, but there was a performance OF BREATH she actually supported the D5 and had a very open sound..there was also a performance of Dancing Queen she had a decent D5. I understand there's VERY slim pickings for TaeYeon above D5, but there's a video with a resonant Eb5 from EXPRESS 999 and there's also the Eb5 from Express 999 at the Gayo DaeJun. Above Eb5 there is no saving or grace..so yeah that is what it is..but below better choices could have been made.

Here's mine 1. Ailee 2. Hyorin 3. TaeYeon I like Ailee's technique, I imagine her singing until old age, its not painful to the ears. I love Hyorin's voice, she's my fave among the 3. She's been singing high notes since debut, to different shows and sometimes I feel sad because she might get nodes or whatnot because there are times her notes arent well supported and she even performs even when her voice needed rest T_T. As for Taeyeon, she's a good singer but when it comes to technique and notes the other two outshines her.

Ailee and Hyorin's voices were designed to hit high notes given the naturally higher pitches of their voices when they sing. you can even hear the higher pitches of their voices when they talk. Taeyeon's natural singing and voice are in general are at a lower pitch than that of Ailee and Hyorin. just watching this video you can tell that Taeyeon has a slightly tougher time executing the high notes where as Ailee and Hyorin can pull it off quite easily. Her high notes aren't as smooth and leveled as Ailee and Hyorin's and the examples that were used for Ailee and Hyorin were from stages where it was obvious they were singing live. Taeyeon's were more from concerts and music shows where it was obvious that there was MR in the background. the last thing is that Taeyeon doesn't sing or have any solo songs that really show off her vocal talent. Most of the "high notes" displayed in the video were either SNSD or TTS songs which only have like... 3 seconds of her real vocal range. in my personal opinion, I think that Taeyeon and Ailee would most likely have a fair fight if they were to duke it out but Hyorin would blow Taeyeon out of the ball park just because Hyorin's voice is just more versatile, unique, and higher in range. So to conclude, I'm not dissing Taeyeon. I fully acknowledge that she's a good singer. I just don't believe that she can match Ailee or Hyorin vocally considering her lower pitch in singing in general. but, because she does not have many songs that show off her vocal range like Ailee and Hyorin do, she may end up surprising me in the future. but for now, seeing this video and from other sources, MY conclusion is that Ailee and Hyorin can easily top Taeyeon when it comes to singing.

I think it's more so because Taeyeon is popular. Other than that, no, none of them sound like black singers. They sound like singers who can belt out notes. It's a popular style in black entertainment but it is NOT owned by blacks.

also, I can't believe your vocal coach thinks Taeyeon's singing should be followed. it's simple: if you keep singing outside of ur range and u push ur voice and u strain, and u don't practice the correct techniques, you WILL damage ur voice. And if we're gonna talk about overall technique, Ailee is still first, followed by Hyorin, then Taeyeon. Hyorin has the ability to hit highnotes and belt easily but her voice is not as strong as ailee during her highnotes. and hyorin she is freakin amazing that no one can deny the fact that she can sing and dance at the same time even the choreo requires her to flip hair, head banging, jumping around and yet she still sounds stable and good asf. while Ailee I prefer her voice for ballad, well she can dance and sing at the same time but not as powerful as Hyorin. see both have their weakness and strenght.

Taeyeon may not have a high vocal range or a catchy voice. But i must say that This girl's voice is unique, it has a control and soft calming voice . And it's not annoying or irritating to hear. SM can be an agency recognized for good vocals and taeyeon makes her part in her group songs but Hyorin and Ailee are in different leagues. It's the difference between singers and idols. Even if Hyorin comes from an idol group, his vocal and stage ability has developed so much it's amazing, and don't get me starte with Ailee, she even makes whistles
hyorin and ailee having a very powerful voices is very tiring in the ear too ... i was impressed by their vocals at the first second and third you heard them but will suddenly annoying to the ear ... so i would go for taeyeon ... her songs are on repeat mode type coz of her powerful yet angelic voice ...

Hyolyn- I just love her breathy vocals. She can sing high and low, different styles. Yeah sometimes her notes can be a little off but that happens to all singers. Taeyeon- i only started paying attention to her when I came out. Her voice is like a breath of fresh air. She can be compared to Hyolyn and Ailee because she is as good as them. Don't belittle her. Just stop. Aille- She likes to growl at the most random parts when she sings that it makes the song sound weird. Sometimes they match but a lot of the time they don't. But she is an amazing singer that can perform different styles really well.

This is what I don't get..you picked very good videos for HyoRin, but for the other two they were just sloppy. I'm not saying you favor HyoRin, but there are better clips you could have chosen for TaeYeon and Ailee. I'm mainly going to talk about TaeYeon, because her choices were the messiest. Her first C5 was great, but the Holler C5..yes it was resonant, but there are better rested C5s you could have chosen from during the Holler promotions. Her first C#5 was fine...but why that Baby Baby C#5? Yeah it's OK..but she has much better ones..like the ones in Oh Holy Night..a clip you used. Now TaeYeon doesn't have much saving grace above C#5, but there was a performance OF BREATH she actually supported the D5 and had a very open sound..there was also a performance of Dancing Queen she had a decent D5. I understand there's VERY slim pickings for TaeYeon above D5, but there's a video with a resonant Eb5 from EXPRESS 999 and there's also the Eb5 from Express 999 at the Gayo DaeJun. Above Eb5 there is no saving or grace..so yeah that is what it is..but below better choices could have been made.

....why is Taeyeon on this list? I'm not saying she's a bad singer because she really isnt. it's just that Ailee and Hyorin are both on completely different levels and comparing them to Taeyeon just makes Taeyeon look bad.

And for YOUR information, I clearly stated that Taeyeon wasn't a bad singer. she's actually one of the best in SNSD. I just don't think that Taeyeon can match Ailee or Hyorin vocally. Ailee and Hyorin's voices were designed to hit high notes given the naturally higher pitches of their voices when they sing. you can even hear the higher pitches of their voices when they talk. Taeyeon's natural singing and voice are in general are at a lower pitch than that of Ailee and Hyorin. just watching this video you can tell that Taeyeon has a slightly tougher time executing the high notes where as Ailee and Hyorin can pull it off quite easily. Her high notes aren't as smooth and leveled as Ailee and Hyorin's and the examples that were used for Ailee and Hyorin were from stages where it was obvious they were singing live. Taeyeon's were more from concerts and music shows where it was obvious that there was MR in the background. the last thing is that Taeyeon doesn't sing or have any solo songs that really show off her vocal talent. Most of the "high notes" displayed in the video were either SNSD or TTS songs which only have like... 3 seconds of her real vocal range. in my personal opinion, I think that Taeyeon and Ailee would most likely have a fair fight if they were to duke it out but Hyorin would blow Taeyeon out of the ball park just because Hyorin's voice is just more versatile, unique, and higher in range.
So to conclude, I'm not dissing Taeyeon. I fully acknowledge that she's a good singer. I just don't believe that she can match Ailee or Hyorin vocally considering her lower pitch in singing in general. but, because she does not have many songs that show off her vocal range like Ailee and Hyorin do, she may end up surprising me in the future. but for now, seeing this video and from other sources, MY conclusion is that Ailee and Hyorin can easily top Taeyeon when it comes to singing.

I think it's more so because Taeyeon is popular. Other than that, no, none of them sound like black singers. They sound like singers who can belt out notes. It's a popular style in black entertainment but it is NOT owned by blacks.

you take vocal course and your vocal coach said that? honey you should get ur money back.. anyone well-versed in vocal pedagogy knows emotions is completely subjective and has nothing to do with vocal techniques which should be objective. your vocal coach must be the only person who says Ailee is screaming when plenty of other people well-versed in vocal pedagogy agree that Ailee's technique is the best and her belts are healthy, not shouty.
also, I can't believe your vocal coach thinks Taeyeon's singing should be followed. it's simple: if you keep singing outside of ur range and u push ur voice and u strain, and u don't practice the correct techniques, you WILL damage ur voice. I can't believe a vocal coach would want his/her student to sing in a way that is vocally-damaging.

If we are talking about wide vocal range then it would be ailee but for be the best among them is taeyeon I mean I don't get headaches while listening to her she connects with me and I feel her and her singing even though I don't understand a word she's saying but that just doesn't happen with ailee and hyorin it's not a battle if who can scream the most but who can sings and in singing taeyeon is damn good also Ailee's lower range is not that good it's even under average as for hyorin I don't know I just don't like her voice not my type ... A singer needs to translate emotions to u I mean like I feel like I'm floeting on the water while listening to taeyeons ballads at nigh before going to bed feels like heaven .. She's a goddess
Actually, Hyorin has a wider vocal range (.______.) And Ailee's lower register has been improving and is still is. Watch her cover of Georgia on my mind and you'll see what I mean :)

Ailee doesn't have the balance in her singing I mean she does good in high note and as for the lower range she's terrible and that's a big weakness I mean this vid was made for only the high notes but not for their voices as a hole from low to high that's why it's not completely fair cuz taeyeon would upstand them like really hard in the overall voice my pick is taeyeon and I'm a fan of both and hear the both ailee and taeyeons voice very frequently so I know them enough to talk ..
But you obviously don't know who's better, technically speaking. Ailee's lower register has been improving.
And if we're gonna talk about overall technique, Ailee is still first, followed by Hyorin, then Taeyeon. Ailee's notes are more supported than of Taeyeon, even in low notes (okay, maybe not all, just some)
You obviously never heard taeyeon singing have u ?!!! In terms of technique no one can beat her and I'm sure about that even though she has a limited range she controle her voice sooooooo good and that's where her stength is and that's not said by me but by professionals and that's the reason she's one of the best singers in kpop industry even above hyorin you should listen to her sometimes be you'll understand why her voice is so incredible like it can be sooooo soft and smooth as it can be so powerful ..

Hyorin has the ability to hit highnotes and belt easily but her voice is not as strong as ailee during her highnotes. and hyorin she is freakin amazing that no one can deny the fact that she can sing and dance at the same time even the choreo requires her to flip hair, head banging, jumping around and yet she still sounds stable and good asf. while Ailee I prefer her voice for ballad, well she can dance and sing at the same time but not as powerful as Hyorin. see both have their weakness and strenght.

Taeyeon may not have a high vocal range or a catchy voice. But i must say that This girl's voice is unique, it has a control and soft calming voice . And it's not annoying or irritating to hear. She has a voice of an Angel, not too loud not too irritating. Her voice is Simple but Elegant. She Perfectly imperfect.

SM can be an agency recognized for good vocals and taeyeon makes her part in her group songs but Hyorin and Ailee are in different leagues. It's the difference between singers and idols.

hyorin and ailee having a very powerful voices is very tiring in the ear too ... i was impressed by their vocals at the first second and third you heard them but will suddenly annoying to the ear ... so i would go for taeyeon ... her songs are on repeat mode type coz of her powerful yet angelic voice ...

Hyolyn- I just love her breathy vocals. She can sing high and low, different styles. Yeah sometimes her notes can be a little off but that happens to all singers.
Taeyeon- i only started paying attention to her when I came out. Her voice is like a breath of fresh air. She can be compared to Hyolyn and Ailee because she is as good as them. Don't belittle her. Just stop.
Aille- She likes to growl at the most random parts when she sings that it makes the song sound weird. Sometimes they match but a lot of the time they don't. But she is an amazing singer that can perform different styles really well.
