@@MikaelMahsudjan Could be, some people actually use white noise machines to help falling asleep but it's not generally recommended to keep those on for extended periods of time, like overnight. Noise pollution is shown to be real health hazard in multiple studies, but so is insomnia on the other hand, and these hazards don't depend on personal preference.

    • @MikaelMahsudjan

@@jarivuorinen3878 i get what you mean but in this case apparently if you have adapted to the certain noise(living next to train station?), meaning you were born and lived there your formidable years - then you are so used to that noise, that when you move away to a quiet location and try to sleep, you cannot because there isn't that noise your whole being was adapted to. So quiet is stressful until you get adapted to quiet, but that might take some time in example I have given.
I for example cannot sleep with slightest of noise because I got used to dead silence growing up in village. City is never that quiet. I use earplugs whole day because the less noise there is the less stressed I feel.

I’m an electrician who has to drive a van loaded up with tools to job sites. I can tell you that most people on the road not only obey the traffic laws but encourage others to. Whenever you see a car doing something crazy or reckless it’s almost always a cab or a bike. Contrary to what movies show, most cabs in NYC today are not yellow but look like regular cars. You can spot them by their license plates which always start with a T and end with a C (Taxi Cab). Cabs are notoriously awful on the road and bikers do whatever they want. As a pedestrian you have to constantly keep an eye out for bikes even more so then the cars.

    Some remarks:
    - Amazing to see so many above ground power lines (on surface streets in the Bronx). That doesn't exist anymore in (larger) European cities.
    - The streets are sometimes in bad shape.
    - Most drivers are remarkably relaxed.
    - When you live in NYC you have to spent a large part of your life in slow-moving traffic (or in crowded trains).

There is a reason why there aren't mice as large as elephants. As size grows, so does the shape and the layout of the animal. The same is valid for countries and cities. It would be prohibitively expensive to lay power cables underground in city (or country) that is much more spaced out.

It's pure ego, and that's why it's not funny to me. I live in an area (all the way across the country) where this happens all the time, even to me when there's a mile behind me yet the guy "NEEDS" to merge in between me and the other guy in front of me.
People aren't thinking about safety when driving a 2 ton piece of metal at 65 mph. They're just thinking about how I need to get somewhere, if even that. I hate to go political a bit but this kind of reasoning is also the BEST argument against the second amendment, as much of a gun nut I am, given people can't be bothered with a PRIVILEGE, not even a RIGHT.

Namely that your towns, cities and endless suburbias are like living organisms with the number of stores being higher per capita, the traffic more severe, but also more motional and as you say, there’s something going on and to pay attention for at every street.

As a kid growing up in L.A., I honestly thought everyone in New York only traveled by subway and taxi. BOY was I wrong. 😅

Man Im eastern european and although I speak English fluently, and consider myself an americano / anglophile, I've never been to the US, so these videos, to me, are a real treat. I hope someday I could visit the US, work or even live there. It's been a dream ever since I was a kid. Much love and respect to all yanks and greetings from your humble NATO ally in Eastern Europe - Bulgaria!

Just a tip, "yanks" is not a term of endearment for Americans...so please do not call Americans that. That's what British love to call Americans when they want to try and insult Americans. It never works though because Americans don't care what British think about them. Other than that, have a good day!

Everything looks so fucking old an broken. The barriers, the street, the walls, the tunnels .. rebar visible because the concrete is already falling apart... That city looks like it's just waiting to fall apart. Far from its former glory
