Growing up we where introduced to Michael Card and his magnificent music, not only is it soothing, it is a reaffirmation that the Almighty Creator cares about His Creation. God is with us all. Jesus Nazareth Man- Luke 4:16-21 ; 18:37 Before the cross: Mathew 16:16,20 John 7:37-39 After the cross, called CHRIST Mathew 17:9 John 20:31 God became man Spirit became flesh- so we can see God but not die Hallelujah Jehovah Christ Jesus
Are you sure we sang this song when I was in class 3 in church as a hosteller. I really missed this song. There is someone like me who misses the song like me
Hi, here’s my appreciation of what those two lines mean: This song portrays the Lord Jesus as a man, and some aspects of His humanity are being illustrated. “And He felt the fascination of the stars”. Just as we are fascinated by the vastness of the cosmos - the stars, the galaxies - so too the Lord Jesus as a man. “Could feel the contradiction from the start”. As a man, Jesus could hunger, cry, laugh with all the fulness of His heart. Yet He is not a mere man. He is also God. When He walked on this earth, His divine nature was displayed in various ways, such as in His miracles, His casting out of demons, and in His teachings, which have the stamp of divine authority. From the beginning of His ministry, people could see the “contradiction” in Him - He was so much like us, yet also so unlike us. Hence the line in the chorus “He was unlike any other man, and yet so much like me.”
I took it to mean he was in awe of His creation because he was human as well as God. Sometimes lines just serve a purpose to set up the next line in a song ,it's part of the art.
