Relaxing Solo Camping By A Lake // Living Out of My Toyota Prado 150 (Lexus GX460)

- In this video, I go on a solo adventure to Lake Tinaroo with iconic Australian wildlife and scenery. This also served as a test for some of my accessories that I have recently installed. The dome awning was helpful and kept me sheltered without any issues. My new swag was really comfortable. The tie down points on the roof rack held the swag securely to the roof and looked tough while doing it. I have a few changes coming up in the near future that will improve my camping going forward.

Just stumbled across this whilst searching Prado touring set ups - what a lovely, really well shot video. Forget about what accessories you were using, you captured the peace and joy of the outdoors pefectly and chose music to suit. I watched until the end ... well done.
That’s very kind of you. Thank you for the comment. It’s greatly appreciated 👍
Prado in UAE comes with 4.0L V6 petrol delivering 271hp
The hilux here used to come with that engine here 👍
May I ask which campsite is this one at tinaroo
I also would love to know which camp site this is at?
Hi awesome video, I also have a question I'm looking to buy a Prado and I've noticed that you've got the flat tailgate pack do u think
the flat tailgate pack is better than the non-flat tailgate pack?
Good question. One of the main differences is losing the sub tank which will reduce your fuel capacity. I am making a video next on the topic because there are a lot of differences! Make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss it 👍
@@NorthOz oh ok I will make sure to Sub!
Thanks mate!
hey great video , quick question im looking for a practical car between city for business meetings and offroad , and im thinking between jeep grand Cherokee , and toyota prado ; can you describe how it performs for you and is it practical , good durability , fuel consumption etc...
I actually had the same dilemma. I needed a car that I could take to work and on the weekends/holidays go off-road. Like you, I was looking at Jeep (Gladiator) and the Prado. There were a few reasons why I decided on Toyota:
- The interior size is bigger meaning I can have a drawer setup and fit enough luggage for me and my family
- Off-road ability is surprisingly good and in certain situations is better than Jeeps. The Prado has centre and rear diff locks and has constant four wheel drive (basically stuck in 4 high all the time)
- Fuel economy is excellent due to the direct injected diesel. I have averaged 9.3L/100km since ownership. Around town to work I get a around 10-11 but on the open road this drops down to about 8 depending on loads and hills.
- Serviceability is superior because when you go remote, 3/4 of the cars are Toyotas so anyone can help you out. If you have a Jeep, you are on your own and parts may take extra time to get to you.
- I took it in for its 6 month service and told my dealership how I hard I have been beating on it. They said there aren’t any issues. These things are indestructible.
Make sure you check out my videos where I take it off-road to give you an idea of how capable it is. I will be making a video on this topic in the near future 👍 If this helped you out, consider subscribing if you haven’t already. I appreciate your comment and feel free to ask any more you may have
