When you make over $250,000 the Tax in Ontario is 53.6%. The top tax bracket in all of USA is 37% in California. It makes me sad, we have missed on sooo many top talents and our country is gorgeous.

They can afford it. They are doing it to reduce the luxury tax they have to pay out. That money that is deferred is being put into an escrow account with interest. They can reinvest a portion of that money to make more money. It's just smart business. Why give away money to cheap owners when you can use it to benefit your own team. Every other team can do this.
