Clive Swift's mellifluous tones are truly a treat for the ears. His Waugh is a kind of well bred English Colombo lulling the wrongdoer into an unsuspecting and unfounded security.😊 Great telly, indeed.

A fun episode as always, but one thing jarred for this old electronic engineering apprentice and classic car enthusiast. AF on a spanner (or wrench, to American viewers) means 'Across Flats' , meaning the size of a spanner refers to the measurement across the head of a bolt, from one flat surface to the corresponding flat on the opposite side. American Fine, also known as Unified National Fine, refers to the thread pitch on a screw or bolt. It means that the thread grooves cut into the screw or bolt are closer together than on a bolt with a UNC or Unified National Coarse thread. Of course, that simple error doesn't affect the drama in any way. It just gave me a surprise and for a moment made me thing my memory was going...
According to IMDB there were only 6 of these 30 Minute Theatre episodes of Waugh on Crime. It's a shame they didn't run with this and create a series of its own.
Excellent series. Always great to see Joe Melia as well - such an underrated character actor.
Utterly charming.....what a lovely series....thank you❤
Thank you, I've really enjoyed all six episodes.
Love this series. No swearing, no violence just sheer entertainment. Marvellous!

I had never heard of this before. I enjoyed all six episodes. Clive Swift is perfect in the role. Thank you.

I agree with Steve! Enjoy the Prokofieff, too, the music echoes the smiling quirkiness, even tho, at times there is darkness! Thank you so much :)
