The Numbers song suddenly hits different after 1.9
@@doritodrummah i can imagine like holy shit xD
28:00 The island is a reference to the painting to "the Isle of the Dead" by Arnold Böckelin. It could be a symbolism with Arcana being the master of the dead and Sophia being some kind of Charon to guide the souls (while Arcana cannot). "Reasons" is basically about how can something broken be fiwed. Her whole purpose on the island was to find her number and follow her task as a number, in a way she says it during the final battle : her task is to defy the others, reason. She has to find another purpose in life and she is pleading Arcana to give her another purpose in life. In the song, she has the journey of the choice : she goes from not knowing what tot do to going towards Manus.
About 0 and Vertin, It is most likely sure that Vertin is connected to the Storm since the significance of the number 0 but also the ritual named "La una circlo" The first circle = 0. We also know from Chapter 2 that Arcana mentions that she has scars on her back with a moon, an eye and interesting lines. Those symbols are none other than on the login screen behind the glass. Also there is twice the reference to returning to the origin first in the Numbers EP but also "Dust to Dust" which is a Bible reference : Ecclesiastes 3:20 American Standard Version (ASV)
All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
The reference to go to ones beginning is alluding to Vertin finding her mother. Yet her whole name is "Invert". What if it was her the storm ? What if Besmert and Marta (both names are pretty suspicious with Besmert meaning "Immortal" in Russian and Marta ressembling "morta") and everyone looking like her **is** her but in a different timeline to change something or looking after her new self and the storm is happening because of those ?
We could also think that maybe she is an homunculus since she has alchemical symbols, is androgynus and has some grey who could represent mercury ("Alchemists were convinced that mercury transcended both the solid and liquid states, both earth and heaven, both life and death."). I am certain that she is the key for the storm.
Loved your analysis on "Numbers". I'll be honest - I don't think many of us even picked up on the hints it dropped all the way back from 1.4 xD At least, not until rewatching all of these
I think the line _"And you have to go back where you come from"_ probably has to refer to Vertin returning to 1999, which is the time she originally comes from. Not only that, the year 1999 is where this all began - essentially the "Origin point" of the story.
My favorite out of all of these is definitely _"Reasons"._ It grew on me SO FAST and I can't stop humming and singing it in my free time lol
Waiting for all of these to drop on Spotify so I can jam to them endlessly.
Idk why they had to have a spoiler thumbnail on it though. They should've at least released it on the second half of the 1.9 event, when most people have (theoretically) played through the story already 😂
I agree with you on "And you have to go back where you come from" is likely referencing going back to 1999
@@XG417 thanks! Glad you enjoyed! Yeah they are pretty subtle but with the context of chapter 7 it's like RIGHT THERE OMG!
That is fair enough I think you are probably right! Wild tho that in a while we will probs look back at this and be like remember is 1.4 where they said this 😭 insane lol!
Reasons is my fave too! I am gonna be listening to that song on repeat for a while, I love it already!
@@georgieegamesFollow-up comment, was gonna include this originally but I wanted to fact-check a bit further xD
The location depicted in "Reasons" appears to be based on a painting - *"Isle of the Dead"* by Arnold Böcklin, with its original version completed in 1880.
Böcklin described his painting as _"a dream picture: it must produce such a stillness that one would be awed by a knock on the door"_
there is technically the song from the trailer for this patch/version too - though that was actually a song about 10-11 years old from a band - still great song though^^

@@SPEEDY4004 oh that's cool! I ofc didn't cover all the music for this patch just a few of the significant story songs hehe but I will have a gander thanks 😁😁
29:00 the island from the video is inspired by “The Isle of the Dead” painting
43:41 isnt that normal rain downwards and not the "storm" rain that went ab (like the retroactive one in wuthering waves)

@@SPEEDY4004 YOU ARE RIGHT ACTUALLY WHAAAAT - my brain didn't even realise that haha
my favorite ep so far tthroughout all is definitely reasons. i love that rock sound, it's always been my fave genre... and it just hits SO hard after seeing the story like my heart was being ripped out
I found the same person as me 😭🙏🙏
I love when you do these videos. It's so enjoyable to hear other peoples thoughts on not just the songs but discussing the story ❤
@@WateryStar thank you!! Hehe I always enjoy talking lore and implications and theories and stuff it's super interesting and chapter 7 gave us SO much of that it's awesome to see it reflected in the music too! Thanks for watching 😁
Because of all of the Awakened lore we get in 1.9, myself and others believe the woman being piloted by Arcana is dead, while her core (probably that wand/spike sticking out of her head) is still out there somewhere.
And like Lucy said in the livestream, Awakened can transfer to different “bodies”. And the fact Arcana gave Sophia the blue necklace thing before dying, she is most likely alive.
I like this theory but it makes me wonder how Arcana was still talking if her true body was elsewhere, is it similar to the Madoka Magica situation with the soul gems?
If you want a more operatic vibe from Isolde then I think you should check out her own EP "The Doors" if you haven't already. Although the door theme of the EP is more tied to Isolde's side story that was available when 1.7 released, so I would recommend watching a playthrough of it if you didn't get the chance to play it yourself (if only to understand it a little better)
@@Cynorin I do deffo want to check out that song but I do need to play isoldes story for context I think! Thank you tho it's for sure on my radar! :)

For the Reasons song, the location is based on the Isle of the Dead (look it up)
@@sundaerainbow thanks 😁😁
That Island in the Reasons song is a reference to the Isle of the Dead
